Just In Case

Someone did not see this comment on the posting regarding dangerous skincare products as the reason for the development of BOMASENSE for IC patients and others, Angela sent this great article on toxins in skincare products: http://www.safecosmetics.org/docUploads/NotTooPretty_r51.pdf

scary

I read this article and it is scary.  Just because a product you use isn't on the list, doesn't mean it is free of pthalates.  I use the bomasense lotion because it is so hard to find lotions that are free of vitamins and petrolatum, etc.  I scrub my head and wash the shampoo out quick like you once told me to do, lol!  And my deodorant is baking soda + olive oil.  I was shocked by the perfumes, thanks to ic I quit spraying it on my skin over six years ago and sprayed my clothes instead.  about three years ago I quit using it completely.  I was never big on nail polish or lipstick, but I do use mascara and eye liner.
I do wonder if mineral makeups like bare minerals/bare escentuals contain pthalates and they aren't listed.  Any thoughts on mineral stuff?

Mineral make-up

I dont have enough experience with the mineral make-up to know if they are hiding ingredients. IT IS scary. We ALL need to stay informed!

Matia, what about undereye

Matia, what about undereye creams/makeup removal products? You said Origins makeup is very gentle even for stage 1, but would their eye cream be OK too?

confused

I recently went back to this site and investigated ingredients in mineral makeup, and many were listed as somewhat or very hazardous on this site.  However, I looked into several of the mineral makeup companies this site advocates, companies that have signed their safe cosmetic compact, and all of them contained harmful ingredients--like titanium dioxide-- listed on this site.  So I am confused.  I guess there is no truly safe cosmetic out there, even the ones recommended on a safe cosmetic site?  matia, is thera certain brand that you personally use?

Make-up

Have you checked out Gabriel Color? I found that one recently and it seems that the ingredients they are using in their make-up (not sure about any other products they produce) is all good!
I have been using the base mae-up and mascara and really like both.
