Cycle day 37 and Nothing!!

Hi all,

i haven't been on in a while, just had to stop myself reading about ic every single day, just to help me refocus on other things as I make progress. So I've been doing pretty good, ups and downs, but mostly my bladder feels calm. I still get vaginal / perineal irritation, still bad athletes foot and at times after voiding or BM urethra irritation / bladder pressure. But background urgency mostly gone :-) often I feel moments of intense happiness, that the worst is over. I hope you will all get there. I am working on healing (through sugar free diet, probiotics) for 2.5 years now, since last oct with the help of dr. B. so yes it is a slow process...stick with it!

Now as I'm doing well and since 2 years have a very regular 28 day cycle, why am I on day 37 and nothing?? Has any of you had this when things were going well? Yes previously I was told I have pcos, and since I've put on bit of weight (normal bmi) in last 6 months, would that influence my hormones to this degree? I had a severe flu about a month ago, took about 2 weeks to get over, still extremely tired from it. Anyone ever missed period due to flu? Any thoughts appreciated :-) xx C oh and def not preg, unfortunately!

Hi CO
THANKS for posting! Great to hear your progress. I think my last cycle was 35+ days when normally it is regular. Flu is a big stress on your body, so while you were having the flu, your body may have decided it was not a good time to ovulate LOL and so did it later. That is my guess. I would not worry a bit at this point. You can't decide you have gone back into PCOS-type pattern until much more time as passed IMO!

Like a house project, the body prioritizes. It is not time to remodel (ovulate) when you are trying to keep the roof on due to a storm (flu)

Thanks Mimi and Deir, i really appreciate your input :-)
Good point, probably fighting the flu was a priority!
Will let you know how i get on...And what dr. B says Tuesday...

The last 3 weeks have been pretty adventurous for me. Went from Germany to L.A. 3 days, to New York 2 weeks and now back to Germany. It´s day 39 of my cycle. I don´t remember having such a long cycle in years, even after coming down with IC a few months ago. I guess all the traveling put too much stress on my body. Or maybe my body is too busy with healing my guts ;) I wouldn´t worry, our body knows best what to take care of first.

LOL Mimi! I LOVE that metaphor.

My cycle is usually around 32-36 days, however twice it was 42 days long and both those times I had a very bad cold/flu around the normal ovulation time. I wouldn't worry too much!
