Itching- so upset

Hi everyone- I hate to post a negative because I think I scare people but I need help. I have had such extreme vaginal itching for 4 days now. It is not a yeast infectiopn- it is one of my IC symptoms. I had it pretty bad before I came to see Dr B. I am so disturbed that it is back this late in the game. Overall- I have been a little more stable but not enough to hang my hat on- and now this just sets me back so much emotionally. I am waiting for her to get back to me. I have been in treatment for 17 months and just now feel like I was getting somewhere. Now this intense itching all over my vaginal area is so upsetting. I feel liek it might be related to Oak allergies. But even so, why am I still so reactive???? I never even had allergies before IC and now I am ready to scream from this itching.

Sorry if I have scared anyone. I would love some encouragement. Iam feeling jealous of people who are getting better fast and feeling like it isn't going to happen for me.

I get through the day but when night comes, I get so nervous

I can sympethize. I have a ton of bladder pain tonight and I am home alone with my kids for 5 more nights with no help from my husband!!
Have you added any new foods recently or changed brands or added a skin product?

(Hugs) I hope Dr. B can help!

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

its all good deir.  if you search "set back", you'll find a ton of stories on here; followed by improvements later on!

Thanks Ladies. I am really doing bad. it is 3;00 am and I can't sleep because of the intense itching/pain. I cannot cope with my kids when I am tired in addition to pain.

Sorry to hear that u have this nasty symptom Deir, I had this way back so can totally sympathize. It sounds like a die-off symptom? What makes u think it is an allergic reaction rather than die-off? Matia had me douche with probiotic yoghurt (very cooling and  soothing). Obviously a bit messy but I found it very effective. (Check with M of course first in case its not suitable for you).

Hi Deir,
I somewhere read on the forum that healing can be like a movie going backwards maybe it has something to do with that and that it is part of the healing right now. I know what you mean by the itching all over I had this long time ago it went away after several weeks.
I am having a difficult time myself right now, very bad vaginal pain like there is a flesh eating monster living in my underwear. I actually developt this a couple of  months in treatment so I now about the worrying and sleepless nights. I am as well one of the persons that are not healing in a fast way. I dont't think you scare people by just being honest this healing is not an easy ride, but I am sure when the time is right that we can say as well that we are feeling better.

Hey deir, I've had the itching on and off too - for me it's not at all like a thrush thing, where the itching's on the surface of the skin, but a deeper ticklish itch inside the skin - most commonly on what feels like my cervix, but even at times in what feels like the bones of my pelvis! Like you, it makes me want to crawl out of my skin - feels totally nuts and unnatural, unlike straight pain, which my brain can process more easily; and it keeps me awake at night. This has felt like one of the most deep-rooted symptoms for me; I've had it on and off for the past year and it drives me bats. But! In the last couple of months with a couple of protocol changes, it really seems to have backed off a bit - only had the odd day with it over the last month. It's SUCH a relief. Still getting some burning on and off but not having the 'weird' feelings is psychologically so much easier.

So ... what I'm saying is, hang in there. It seems to be shifting for me - comes back from time to time but much less of a dominant symptom.

Really hope you're getting some relief xxxx

Hey Deir,

I'm so sorry you are going through this.  The vaginal itching is really tough to deal with!

I wonder if maybe this is die-off?  My cousin, who went through Dr. B's treatment several years ago, was getting progressively better over a year and a half.  Then all of a sudden she had the worst flare of her life.  When the flare was over, the IC was basically gone!  She was freaking out when the flare happened, but I guess it was just her body getting rid of the last bit of bad stuff.

I'm still having a really tough time with the vulvodynia.  It stops me from driving because sitting can be really painful.

Are you feeling any better today?

Baking soda helps with itching. I have read that there can be something called a lacobaccilli overgrowth that causes itching. I don't know if this is related, but the baking soda has helped me. Sometimes I wonder if my body is producing too much of the good bacteria, but who knows? Obviously, not the doctors. I have also discovered an organic lubricant called Yes, that seems to help with itching. I also wonder sometimes if the itching is caused by dryness caused by anxiety/stress throwing off the PH balance, but again, who knows? Not the doctors. I pray every day that there is some medical professional out there that can help cure this problem. Look up Abigail Stiedly if you want help with anxiety about this problem. You may be one of the lucky ones that learns that it is simply a mind body syndrome for you and gets over it very quickly. She recommends John Sarno too and says the key is getting out of fight or flight.

Hi Ladies- Thanks!

I am still not great but I am handling ok. LIsa Ann- Wow I would be so thrilled if this was that one last big push!! Tahnks for the positive idea. I was thinking- why not think that instead of the usual negative assumptions I go to?

I felt like it could be allergy related because my husband was so bad this week with Oak allergies and I also had itchy eyes etc. But it is probably die off. I haven't had a whole lof of traditional die off. I thought it might be a combo of events. Whatever it is it is maddening!!!

I felt better after Matia got back to me. I tried the yogurt and also goldenseal/jojoba oil. It helps a bit but boy, I just need this to end. my bladder has been good though!!

I am so grateful that we do have this wonderful resource, Dr Brizman, to help heal from this horrendous illness. I have a lot of hope.

Thanks for the support!

Hi,
What has helped me alot with vaginal itching is using vaginal probiotics. There is gynatren or you could use gynocaps (i think in the USA it is gynophilus) the first contains acidophilus and the latter doderlein, a bacteria that naturally occurs vaginally. I haven't read anyone on this site using vaginal probiotics? But i feel that they really help me, as they bring the ph down so that yeast cannot thrive. (hence why some women get itching / thrush after their period, when the ph is higher). I now use a vaginal probiotic when itching comes up, then the next day it is over. This might take a few courses of vaginal probiotics, to get things back into balance. i have used MANY of them, over the last year, but need them much less now.
Have any of you used them?
C

Matia told me to get the Gyntren just in case. But this is so not thrush i don't think. It is like a deep nerve itching. I have really been struggling but hanging on to the hope that she will get to the bottom of this

Deir, "deep nerve itching" is EXACTLY what I have! All I can say is that it is finally improving. You have my deepest sympathies; it SUCKS and is unbearably distracting - esp in the night. Huge love xx
