Hi all,
so, I am back home, eating herbs, cooking like a mad woman (it is freezing cold here, I don´t want to lose weight!):), baking rice basil shortbread (well, if one can´t have maple syrup, then just must be creative) and trying not to freak out, because I am feeling really bad (I think that travelling no matter how I love it is not really a good idea right now). Anyway, Dr. Brizman seems like she really knows what she is doing and I have met some really wonderful people who made my stay a heaven (or, as close to heaven as possible under given conditions):). And, some of them I have not met even...
And here is my, maybe silly, question - are we allowed ANY celery? Here in Czech Rep., the most common type of celery is this one: http://whatscookingamerica.net/Foto4/CeleryRoot2.jpg
e.g., you eat the root, not the green parts. I know that in the US, the most common celery are the green sticks (stalks). I can buy it here sometimes (and not during the summer), but I often use that white root stuff for cooking etc. I just wonder if it is allowed? It would be sad if not!:) Thank you!

hi aya. you got the hardest part out of the way and from now on, it will be sailing forward to healing. :o) anyway, celery is in food list 1, so i would say yes. celery is celery :o). i don't think it's a problem because it's a different part of a celery, but on the other hand, i'm no nutritionist.

Be careful with celery. It bothers me. Go slow with your diet so you can see what foods give you problems.

Thank you all! So, I will wait. I do not have a feeling that any food bothers me (well, I am gluten intolerant, but without medical testing I would not even know, now I know that it sometimes makes my stomach & intestines hurt, sometimes not, and it has apparently no impact on my bladder - I took it off my diet for 6 months, then tried spelt, no change). So, I eat gluten-free to make it easier for my body, but any other food make no difference. Some might say that it is great, I just feel that it is scary - like nothing has an impact, so nothing can be done about it. Eh.

As someone that only restricted their food for a couple of months - except no longer eating the big NO NO's (sugar, alcohol, musthrooms, vinegar, and soy to name a few), while diet is important, you can still be helped if you don't seem to have food sensitivities. I am not saying to ditch the lists - as all of us are so completely different - I'm just saying that you're in the right place to get better even if food doesn't seem to bother you as much as others.
