Mozzarella Cheese

I can't seem to find the right kind of mozzarella cheese. I checked at Whole Foods, and there is one kind that's not in water, it's white and soft as mozzarella should be, but has vinegar as an ingredient. There is another kind which is presliced but it's yellow color just like provolone cheese. I just wanted to have a little variety to provolone to get excited about. Are there any other kind of cheese you tried and ok on list 2-3, ok'ed by Matia? Thank you

I would love to know the answer to this as well! I'm still new to this and haven't seen Matia yet but was told to start on list 3. I ate a some mozerella string cheese yesterday and im pretty sure it aggravated my symptoms.

I buy mozzarella cheese from Walmart.  The ingredients are milk, salt, and enzymes.

I use the Precious brand cheese and also the target brand string cheese with no issues

Oh, i love string cheese. I'll definately ask Matia about this next time. Thank you :) I guess there are more mild cheeses that we are allowed than i am aware of. I've just been afraid to try them. It's really helped me balance my weight loss recently. I now make a spelt toast with 2 thin slices of provolone cheese and 2 slices of tomatoe. That roughly covers protein, carb and veggies, i guess more carb than others but must be ok for a snack? i eat this everyday now, and it's so yummie!!

Selichan, what list are you on? I avoid tomatoes like plague. I did have tomato sauce twice and had no reaction what so ever. Is it a myth that tomatoes are big no-no for IC patients?

Blondy- I seem to be really bad with foods and yet i think (crossing my fingers) that a little bit of tomato is ok for me. I guess like everything- it all depends on the person!

Hi blondy,
I am on list 3 and 15 months into treatment. I am doing mostly ok on foods on list 3 now, although some items like cheese and avocado was ok'd for me only after List 3. It's different for everyone. I can now eat tomatoes raw or cooked and completely ok with it, which is great cause it makes the food taste so much better.  If you are ok with tomatoe sauce, that's really awesome!! :). Just curious, are you making your own tomatoe sauce? I'd be wary of using a store bought one due to the chemicals and preservatives in it. Before i thought i'd probably never be ok with it, but as our bodies build tolerance, we should be ok with pretty much everything, as long as we don't overdo it and continue to eat balanced mix of veggies, protein and carbs.:)
