Allergy Shots

Here I go again. I am 53. I have had fairly severe allergies and sinusitis since I was 34. I went on shots in my 30s and it made my be able to get through pollen season without being on antibiotics for 3 months. God have I taken a lot of antibiotics. I so regret that.  Meanwhile, I continued to develop food allergies until I had about 20 or more at the last testing. Shots obviously don't work for that. Dr. b has advised me to go off my shots and of course, i want to do that but I am scared. Has anyone been on shots and can you give me any feedback about stopping?

In general, observations about allergies would be interesting to me.

My pattern was bulimia in my 20s, chronic fatigue, got pregnant and went into remission after birth but then developed allergies within the enxt few years. I see that it is part of a continuum occasioned by malnutrion from an eating disorder and tons of subsequent family stress from having a disabled child.

Thank you.

Bonnie

FINALLY - someone older than me : ) .  I'll be 53 in September.  I havd HORRIBLE sinus problems - I've probably taken decongestents for 20 years - otherwise Ihad tremendous headaches.  It had gotten to the point where my ear canals were nearly closed.  So, while I've never had shots for this sort of thing - I have gotten tremendously better under Dr.B
You will too.

Yes Denise, we can commiserate about age together. i am going to write you this weekend when I have more time. That is so reassuring. I had the sinus headaches and lots of antihistamines and I know you have been down that road. I am getting mroe and mroe curious to explore how this protocol works physiologically. We are lucky to have it.

Happy birthday to you...

Hey Bonnie,

You mentioned wanting to explore more about how this treatment works.  Have you read Dr. B's dissertation?  I am about halfway through, and it is helping me tremendously in terms of understanding it.  Because I am understanding it better, I believe in it.  I know it's on the expensive side, but I think it is really helpful if you are able to get it.  An incredible amount of research went into Dr. B's formulation of her protocol.  We see the evidence that it works because so many people have gotten better.  But sometimes we have doubts that it can work for us.  If you read her dissertation, you can fight the doubts with the truth.  I know this sounds like an advertisement, but I really am being sincere :)

Hi Lisa:

yes, I have read Dr. B's dissertation and there is a lot in there. I hope as I deepen my understanding of Chinese medicine I can read it again and glean more. DO not worry. I am not thinking that you sound like an advertisement. There is nothing I like better than hearing from others about their thoughts and experiences of treatment. It would be cool if someone could summarize the dissertation in brief and put it up here on the forum. I was thinking I might do it if I could be succint and correct about it.
