UTI Protocol

Sorry I haven't posted in a long while. I am 2.3 years into treatment and generally do quite well.  However, last evening I was hit with what appears to be an actual UTI according to test strips and crazy pain that I haven't felt in two years. Working with Dr M and have taken 3 doses of the UTI protocol. Just wanted to check with others who have been through this - how long is it usually before you felt improvement? 1 day? 3 days? I'm just trying to be realistic :) and want to make sure I give the herbs plenty of time. Any other feedback from those who had a nitrate and leukocyte positive test strip and went through dr. m's protocol?

thank you soooo much!

The UTI herbs take longer to take effect. It took about a week for it to feel better and 2-3 weeks to be gone completely. Hope you feel better soon! Drink gallons of water!

Thank you! hopeful it will be a bit faster as i have a busy week at work and missed today!  My period is starting today - hoping it wasn't scewing results with the test strips if it is just crazy inflammation as my pee isn't burning - UGH how can I still not know the difference after all this time.  Anyway, thanks for listening!

Alishia, make sure you get a culture done at your doctor's. Not to say that it isn't an infecton, but I recently had both leukocytes and nitrites show up on a diptick test (in high amounts too) and the culture came back negatve. It was just inflammation. I could have sworn it was a UTI based on the symptoms and how bad the pain was. Either way I like to start the UTI protocol while I'm waiting for a culture to come back because it gives me some peace of mind but the culture can tell you if you should be treating it more agressively and with stronger herbs or if it is just inflamed and you need something more gentle. Hope this doesn't last long for you!

Thank you Megan! That is a good point - I hate to be downing the goldenseal when my poor bladder may just be inflamed- being on my period is not helping matters lol! Brizman said to keep this protocol up for a few days. At that point when my period is over and if I'm not feeling better I think I'll go get the culture. So far, today is much better than yesterday - thank you for the response!
