Period cramping continuing after period ending and RUQ pain?

Has anyone ever had period cramps continue after their period has stopped? I have been contemplating going to the ER with severe RUQ pain and continual pelvic cramping, but don't want to go through needless tests and making things worse when they will probably not find anything anyway. I don't know what to do? Anyone ever had gallbladder removed and had success with pain relief from it? Desperate and need advice on what to do! Thanks for listening!

How far are you past your period?  I have had lots of period issues and they also thought I had gallbladder problems at one point.  I would avoid the ER if possible because they will probably do a pelvic exam and tell you to follow up with an ob/gyn.  In my experience the ER docs try to keep you from dying but don't try to solve where your pain is coming from.  I had a hida scan for my gallbladder and it did not show that my gall bladder needed to be removed.  I just had continuous upper right side abdominal pain they no one could explain.

Hello! I'm only nearly 2 days out. I have PCOS and every CT or US I've had have shown huge cysts on my ovaries so I know its probably the main culprit to pain issues! Ugh! My bilirubin levels are elevated but nothing that is alarming to Dr's and PIPIDA scan also showed my gallbladder was functioning at around 70% 2 years ago but not significant for having removed, just wondering if worse now. I know no matter what I do Dr's will want to run more tests. The only positive on my side with going to the ER is I know all the Dr's so I wouldn't feel as much like a fish out of water and woukd most likely run tests more quickly. Trying to be patient and wait for my appointment with my hepatologist to hopefully get more answers, but probably not! Ugh, I'm in so much pain I just want answers! Thanks for your response! Do you still have RUQ pain?

I had my gall bladder removed because of gallstones. I had some that even were in my bile duct. That was 25 years ago and with the exception of having to be on a probiotic all these years I was so thankful they took it out. My pain was worse than childbirth. Hope you can find some relief very soon and I am so sorry you are going through this.

Hopefully you can keep your gallbladder. I can't imagine that kind of pain, but I know you were intended to have a gallbladder to help with your digestion. I really hope you find some relief soon!!!
