Hi all,
I need your wisdom here....
When I met Matia, I had stopped smoking for many years. I only had one cig very occasionnally, like on a warm summer evening around a camp fire sort of thing...

Recently I've been going through sort of a dark period, where some issues in my life are being shown to me and I have started the habit again. I know enough to realise that it is pointless to judge myself and feel guilty but I was wondering if others have had similar experiences during treatment and how it affected your IC.

Today, I plan to work out, get oxygenated again, and I believe that this smoking phase is over. Sometimes, it is interesting to see that a destructive (auto-destructive) tendency takes the reigns beyond all the knowledge we may have. It is also weird how easy it is for me to be disciplined with food (I don't cheat!)

Smoking really affected my progress. I was starting to feel much better and then this made my bladder worse.

I just needed some support and perhaps a few reminders of how smoking really interfears with treatment. To keep me on track, you know....
love to all, B

3 of my friends and I did this 3 years ago January 28th and haven't smoked since--nor have we had ANY desire to.  Its amazing--I did the clinic, but I know people who used the book and were successful.  Cigarette smoking literally disgusts me now.

thanks! I read that book many years ago! It definitely works!!Thanks for your answers, just talked with Matia and she said to me that as silly as it sounds, "you need to want to stop smoking more than you want to smoke".I'm doing my best now...but this is not an easy period. The good news is, I am getting better. So I will intend myself to go that way, continue that way, keep the signs of my progress in my head and put one foot in front of the other towards a better way of life.Exercising helps, too.hugs and thanks for answering.
