I have had IC since I was 14, I am now 19 and have not been able to keep a job because of IC.
I got fired from a job back in May because no one was there to cover me when I had to run to the restroom. It was either that or pee myself in front of a line of people in a small town. I am not willing to lose everything over a job.
How do people do it? Keep jobs with IC? The pain is intense. I cant get out of bed half the week because of it. I can usually walk around town for at most an hour of the day. Standing and walking are the worst for me.
I found out that IC is now considered a disability and we can get SSI. But to get that my husband would need to be making less than $1010 a month! If he made less than $1010 a month we would not be able to survive! and SSD at my age isnt even an option because you have to have worked 5 years to accure disability benefits.
I live in Tacoma, Washington now and am still unable to find a job that I can actually work at. I definitly cannot work full time. I basically need a job where I am always sitting, but able to run to the bathroom up to 3 times an hour. (Which is a big problem in like telemarketing job...I know...I've tried)
So how do you do it?
Diaper
Have you thought about getting a diaper? I don't have as bad IC as you do, so I've never done this, but many of Dr. B's patients have. I seriously suggest you find a way to get down to Dr. B, and begin following her diet ASAP.
