So I am having a really hard time finding flour in my area. Does the flour have to say YEAST FREE on it? I have found many spelt flours but it doesn't say yeast free.
What brand of flour do you guys get and do you know where I can order some?
I could travel two hours to a Whole Foods if I have to.
Thanks!

Here in Canada we have the Bulk Barn and they sell Spelt and Kamut flours. If your buying just the flour to make bread it shouldn't have yeast in it. Or it should be listed in the ingredients if it is included.
So you're saying that no
So you're saying that no flour will say yeast free? That it is automatically is yeast free? Sorry, I asked Matia but she wasn't sure and I wanna make a pizza crust so freakin bad!
I use
Arrowhead Mills Organic Spelt Flour. It does not say yeast free but the ingredients are: organic whole grain spelt (wheat) flour. That's it. Of course I have yet to make any type of bread with it. So far I have used it to bread chicken and eggplant.
Flour would have to say it
Flour would have to say it had yeast added to it if it did. Yeast is typically something you add to flour when making bread.
Hey Christine, that's a great idea using the flour to coat chicken and eggplant....thanks for the new idea! I recently made brown rice muffins...they were pretty bland but OK.
Cookies and other wonderful things
I tried arrowhead mills and reacted mildly to it when i moved to list 2. I am not sure why, cause i am ok with spelt bread. I can't wait to be able to make plain, salty cookies with it...yum
