so question... when you guys go on a new probiotic and your pain increases, is it just your main symptom pain or other stuff too? i've been off pros for about 3 weeks and matia just added digestalac. it's definitely made my symptoms worse, but i know there is generally a period of adjustment with new probiotics. i've been on bif and meg on and off throughout treatment and remember it was a bit of a struggle for the first couple weeks til my body got used to it. But, this time i don't just have an increase in my vulvar irritation, my glute/leg burning is back up too. just want to know if that is par for the course with the initial probiotic flares. thanks.

sometimes with the probiotics there is in increase in pain beause the immune system is being stimulated. In this case Matia has asked me to push through. Because I can not tell when this is the case I have told Matia that if it is the case that my immune system is being stimulated lets not change it but if not then adjust so that she knows where you stand weather or not you can handle being pushed. She will look to you to tell her what you and your body can handle. I have knowticed she doesn't offer this information i found out by asking in the support group so ask her questions and I have found out way more during the meetings there very important so if your not joining in you should start.

nicole, thank you so much for the explanation. i actually was not even aware that the pain with the pros was related to stimulating the immune system. i still don't totally get why stimulating the immune system makes you feel worse. do you understand that part? i know that when i had that one week of feeling better recently on the high doses of vitamin d (which i am still taking now with the pros) i was having MAJOR indigestion/stomach pain issues (in my actual stomach rather then in my intestines), as well as a resurgence of my allergy symptoms (i.e. itchy eyes, nose and throat), and she said those were all signs that my immune system was working - so they were good signs. but now, i'm just having that increased burning and it's driving me nuts. but, if i know that it will settle and i will be the better for it, i can push through. it just helps so much to understand the reasons behind the things we feel. i did tell matia i was feeling super bad and she told me to try and push through for a little longer. so i guess you are probably right about what you said. it's just hard to feel hopeful when i feel so bad - especially when i thought i was finally seeing SOME forward motion only a few weeks ago. so, so, so frustrating. i will try to make the call tomorrow. it's usually not at a time that works for me, but don't think we have plans tomorrow night, so i will plan to be there. thanks again for your input.

No I don't know and I am not sure if she explained why it happens GOod question for tomorrow. I know it is easier when you know why. It's all so hard and frustrating I know hang in there and hang on to your little improvements they are very important. I would write more but these herbs are knocking me out.
