Someone sent me this this morning on furthering the post on antibiotics the day before yesterday. It is quite sad, but, probably quite important to share. Often people will say things like they are worried about how I am going to feelknowing they took antibiotics. And, I am not one to judge anyone for doing anything. It is the person that makes the choice to do something that must measure the benefits against the potential problems that may arise from that choice.

In the last decade and a half we here at our clinic have treated countless infections including very sever ones such as pneumonia, meningitis, etc...with herbal therapy. Have there been times I have said, take the western meds? Yes. There have been, but those times, I can count on my one hald over a 16 year period. So, you can see that the situation really needs to be quite something to cause me to beleive it is critical to make that choice.

It is important to understand that there are choices and that each choice in life as in medicine always comes with a flip side. Prescription antibiotics may be life saving in amany cases, but their over use has led to a lot of harm and they simply may be avoided more than they are used. Even now in western medicine, researchers are turning to more natural laternatives realiziing after dcades of use that antibiotics are creating serious problems. Thank you for this Dr. B! If we plan to try to be sexually active, aside from washing very carefully and peeing after sex, should we have herbs from your office on had to treat a UTI? For example, what if we get a UTI on a Saturday and your office is not open until Tuesday, plus shipping time? Would it be better to have on hand? Is that possible?
Thanks!!

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

you can order herbs to have on hand-that is a good idea. but if you dont have them one goldenseal and 5 drops oregano  a few times per day sometimes works-at least to dedge it off.

I was put on ciprofloxacin a few weeks before i got IC. After two days on cipro i started to bleed vaginally (even though i'd had a period two weeks earlier, and my periods were usually months apart. This was NOT a period). My doctor told me the bleeding couldn't possibly be a side effect of cipro, and to keep taking it. Over the next few days the bleeding got heavier, it was scary. The day after i stopped taking cipro, the bleeding stopped. I feel that the cipro, along with other factors, contributed to me getting IC. I cannot believe these drugs continue to be prescribed.

Thank you SOOO much for posting this Dr B! I've been so tempted to take antibiotics on the days I feel like my UTI is still lingering around.. last night I prayed for a sign that I'm doing the right thing by not taking them.. I then logged online this morning and saw this post - what perfect timing :)
