Chlorine in drinking water is one problematic area of concern for me when it comes to IC. But, dipping in a pool with chlorine----one should really try to avoid that. In today's world there are many options to the standard chrlorinated pool. Research correlates an increase in bladder and colon cancer with even moderate levels of chlorine exposure. The following article is on this subject because chlorine level in this particular pool were too high. But, imagine the extreme of what happened in this article and then imagine the same chemical toned down to an "acceptable" amount. Dont you think that it just dows the same things on a micro level? Reasonable? See for yourself: http://www.naturalnews.com/023740.html

swimming
I recently found out there is a wellness center in my town that has a salt water pool. I miss swimming and wonder if it is safe to go swimming in that environment. I'm still in relatively early stages of treatment. Has anyone had any experience with this and Matia what do you think?
Salt Water Pools
I have not had experience with patients and salt water pools. But, I have a pool at my house and recently converted in from Baquacil to Salt Water. Salt water technically turns into chlorine, but I have to say that it is really gentle and feels nothing like chlorine at all. SO, I am not certain if in the bigger picture it is 100% non-toxic, but I THINK it is gentle enough for those in treatment. I would try it and see how you feel afterwards, that will be how you know.
