So urge and frequency have never really been my main thing... my problem has always been pain. I just hit my two year mark earlier this week, and holy bladder pressure! Has anyone else had increased pressure that didn't come on until later in treatment? I think I'm experiencing a big shift... the intense sharp pain that I usually struggle with hasn't been so terrible (still there, but at a lower level), but the pressure and frequency has increased. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining... I will take this over sharp pain any day if I had to choose. I'm just trying to make sense of it. Like, is it a good shift or a bad shift? I'm not sure... My next appointment is in less than two weeks (in-person this time, my first in-person visit since the initial consultation... thankfully! I can't wait to see her in person again). So I'm just trying to make logical sense of this until I can sit down with her to discuss. Has anyone else had a shift like this further along in the process? Thanks, lovlies!
HI Tinkerbell- I have been
HI Tinkerbell- I have been dealing with a similiar issue. My symptoms are always all over the place but in the past 4 months, all of the sudden bm's aremakingme much worse especially at night and I am havign horrific nighttime flares htat keep me from sleeping. I am trying to hold onto the idea that all chang is good. The main bad feeling I have lately is different than it ever was.Although it seems worse, maybe it is shifting?

Hey-
Hey-
This is totally what happened to me and it sucked. It took two years and now I'm just starting to finally get periods where my background urge is low, and I can get to sleep at night. What really helped was going to bed early and getting 8 hours of sleep as often as possible. Also--excercising daily. While this obviously depends on the person, and it did flare me initially, I personally felt it helped. Additionally, I realized that my husband's coffee was seriously messing me up--he drinks motor oil. I started making separate coffee and limited myself to one cup MAAAAYBE two cups. Lastly, I had a few toxic friendships with extremely needy self centered people which I ended as well.
Or...it could have been some inflammation working itself out yaddah yaddah. Or..I also cheated a bunch early on..and stopped doing that for 2 years.
Also, I stopped checking in on the board here.
Best of luck girl!
Hey Ladies, Reseachnerd- I
Hey Ladies, Reseachnerd- I was wondering about you the other morning and hoping that you are doing well!
Tinkerbell and Deir, This has happened to me with my heart. My bladder began to do very well and life settled back to normal-ish. Then what had been intermittent heart palpitations and tachycardia smacked me upside the head;) I have been working diligently with Dr Brizman but it is disheartening when I want to compartmentalize that a certain symptom is done..... It rears its ugly head.
You are certainly not alone,
Katie
Thank you ladies!! Shifts
Thank you ladies!! Shifts are so strange sometimes. I've had lots of little shifts (good and bad), but nothing like this. I've gone from sharp pinching/needle pain to pressure/urgency. Like that weird tickle feeling that makes me want to lose my mind! Along with pressure and my belly looking like I'm 3-4 months pregnant. Almost embarrassed to wear fitted tops because I don't want people to think I'm preggo! So I'm not sure if this new stuff is worse than before... it's just different and has it's own annoying character! Good to know that I'm not the only one! And definitely looking forward to talking with Dr. B about all of this.
Researchnerd -- Thank you for all of those tips!! For real, that is so helpful! I am such a coffee addict! Maybe I should stick to just one cup a day. It's interesting what you say about your husband's motor oil. That's how I am!! My husband has also commented on how strong my coffee is... maybe I need to lighten it up a bit. But it's sooooo gooooood!!! And thank you on the tips on sleep and excercise. My sleep schedule has been off lately, and I haven't been taking as many walks as I used to. I am definitely going to try to get my junk together!! Thank you!!!
fahlmank-- Thank you for sharing your experience!! I also tend to compartmentalize and label my symptoms in a very orderly way. I think I'm being taught a lesson on "letting it be" instead of trying to have so much control all the time! For some reason, I feel like if I can keep a chart of what's going on, I can see exactly what is going on and have it under control. But I SO don't have anything under control! I just want to put a label on everything!
Tink, what does Dr. B say
Tink, what does Dr. B say about urge/frequ? That has always been my main sx. I the year I have been in treatment, I have had about two months (separated) where I was almost sx free! But now the urge/frequency is back and she is changing my protocol. So I am just trying to get clear on what she says about this, because your shift is a shift and of course not and end point. What is her take?
As for the 4 month preggo look, I have had that nearly all the way through treatment. Now nearing the one year mark and it is as bad as ever. Diet does not seem to make a difference. Even when I went off dairy and grains. Bloating is a sx of SIBO, and it is a sx of yeast overgrowth where the body is not producting enough stomach acid for digestion. I dont know what it is in TCM terms. But Dr. B says it is bacteria getting all stirred up after meals and it will gradually or suddenly pass. She has seen both. It is very disheartening. I literally only have had about two days (Once at start of Digesta-lac, and once again recently) when I did not have bloat in the evening. I really can't wait for this to pass. It is a big bummer. I only wear drapy clothes now and I used to be a fitness instructor and could literally wear anything.
If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.
My main symptom now is the
My main symptom now is the frequency. I don't really feel like I have any pain anymore just a constant awareness of my bladder 24 hrs a day. I was getting up at night every 1 1/2 -2 hours, this past month I get up every 2-3 hours so there is improvement in that. Dr B told me that frequency is often the last symptom to go.
