Jawline numbness

Hi All

I am about to travel out to see Dr Brizman from the UK after months of saving up!

Anyhow, I have IC but in addition I have developed numbness around my left cheek and jawline as well as lymph nodes swelling under the arms and tingling/itching in the feet all at the same time. Just wondering whether this could be linked to the gut flora being out of balance or perhaps I should explore the traditional medical route first to rule out any nasties. Any thoughts welcome please.

Just not sure what to do for the best.

Best wishes

Emma

Hi Poppy, How exciting that you are able to go see Dr.Brizman soon! All of the symptoms you mention sound very much like an extension of the imbalance/IC to me. I began the diet a few months before beginning with Dr.B and I found that I began having some movement/rebalancing/die off symptoms about a month into the diet.
I would mention all of your concerns and questions with Dr.B. If she thinks you need further investigation through conventional medical tests, she will tell you. For some of the heart issues I am experiencing, I did go my cardiologist and have non-invasive tests done... EKG,Echo as a precaution and I shared the results with Dr.B. It also provided me some peace of mind.
Good luck,
Katie

Hi Emma
I went out from the UK in january and am now 8 months in, just started my ninth month of treatment.
I have had numbness for months now, Matia said that is can be quite common.  My right big toe is numb and I have a patrch on my back that is numb and hope that in time it will stop as the body balances.  I also get tingling in my feet, it tends to be worse when my bladder is worse overall.  I have not mentioned this to Matia but I am sure that it is all linked.  I didn't get any of these wierd things before my IC started last July, so I do believe they are all linked.  This is the wierdest, most perplexing dis -ease and so many things that seem unrelated are part and parcel of the whole picture.
I would mention them to Matia when you go.
I wish you a pain free flight and a good stay in LA.
Let us know how you get on.

Hi Emma,
Welcome to this strange world.  I can still get so paranoid by it all.  My right leg has this large numb spot in it - comes and goes.  Truth be known it did it years ago and has now resurfaced.  I figure that since it hasn't killed me by now, I shouldn't worry :).  My right ribs hurt so bad, for awhile, that I was sure I had liver cancer.  It slowly got better - something that cancer just doesn't do.  Then, months later, hurts a bit on and off.  I have had numerous other bizar nerve issues - something that Dr B says a ton of her patients have.
If, by some weird chance, you are able to get yourself to a place where the strangeness of this whole thing is a bit intriguing, it helps.  I can't say that I'm always able to do it, but occasionally it happens.
Hang in there - you are healing.
