How has been ur experience doing food mistakes

Hi All,

I started the protocol about 15 months back. My diagnosis was chronic inflammation, microbial imbalance & toxicity. My symptoms were pelvic tension upon sitting & dull ache inside buttocks upon sitting on even slightly hard surface (though diagnosed of IC but no IC like pain, urgency or freq ever). For about 7-8 months I did the protocol sincerely & my pelvic tension almost resolved, though my dull ache upon sitting still persisted. Afterwards due to some disturbed personal\family situations & work schedule, I kept doing food mistakes like sugars, hard spicy foods, more tea etc. Unfortunately my symptoms bounced back.

From last 4-5 months now I have reduced the food mistakes, though not completely. It has helped but again at times I get some bloating. Not sure where I stand right now in the protocol & how to assess it. My primary symptom has always been dull ache
sitting on hard & it is still there. I am still all motivated to cut down food mistakes 100% & again follow the protocol sincerely. Just wanted to have few opinions -

1. Have you been able to resolve your symptoms completely, where once you gradually switched to List 1,2..., you never had to revert back & how long it took you ?

2. Was your diagnosis similar to mine. Have food mistakes costed you so much that you were pused back by months & then how was the experience making the 'U' turn ?

3. How did you maintain body fat, weight and energy while being on this protocol ?

Have a safe & happy remaining holidays !

Thanks

Hi Sidh!
I do not have your exact symptoms but have had some pain in that area that has much improved with treatment. I have not deviated from the diet and I plan to never eat sugar again after treatment. I might occasionally have a drink socially, but never a drink with sugar and it will be special occasions.
I have seen people cheat on the diet and have a relapse of symptoms and then get back on track. Of course. But if you can stick with it you will get the best results and I recommend that your shift of focus towards whole foods be one that you strive for the rest of your life as your body will thank you in many ways. I keep sugar completely out of the house. For me if I ate sugar it would bring me a lot of pain and I am not willing to undo all of the months of hard work (14 now)
If you keep in touch with the doctor you will be able to track and not lose too much weight, although sometimes people do drop weight at the beginning of treatment due to the detoxification and body trying to gain balance and also not able to absorb nutrients as well because your digestive system is not absorbing nutrients efficiently at first!! This is part of why we are sick and have inflammation.
If you are worried about weight then at first you can have 1/3 Protien, 1/3 Starch, 1/3 veggies and then gradually shift to 1/2 veggies and 1/4 protien and 1/4 starch as your weight stabilizes.

Hi Mimij67,
Your response is really motivating. Thanks for providing all the encouragement. I think I need to resume the protocol with 100% sincerity now
Thanks
