Many of you know that I recommend not using standard hair dye products due to toxins in these products, and alternatively I recommend the ones in the health food stores. I have used many of them for years as have many of my patients over time-all with great results. I have not observed any negative effects from these products. However, recently I have had a situation with one patient who also had used a particular color of Naturtint and then changed to a different color and it seemed to have made her unwell. I am trying to figure out from the ingredients why that may have been, and think that it has to do with the fact that it produces a very red color and the ingredients necessary to produce that color is the reason behind that. So, I am not saying anything bad about that product other than for my patients, just in case, it may be best to not use it while you are still struggling with your IC or only newly feeling well. IT is naturtint copper arizona. All of the other naturtint colors seem completely safe for you in terms of your IC symptoms. I have never observed any problems with any of them, and I, in fact, use naturtint myself and have for numerous years.

Since highlighting is not hitting your roots, is this ok?
Highlights
Sometimes this works well. You still will breath in fumes and the chemicals can affect you in that way. So, sensitive people will feel poorly after for that reason. But, this is a lesser route for certain. You can also use the natural blonde colors for highlights and not touch the roots. I have been amazed over the years how well the natural dyes work.
