Grass-fed beef

To those of you who are interested (in the USA), I recently ordered a box of grass-fed beef from US Wellness Meats (www.grasslandbeef.com) and it is MIGHTY tasty and very convenient since they deliver right to your door. I've had their filet and their ground beef and both were delicious.  It's not cheap, mind you, but I don't mind spending a little extra for great quality when I can and the convenience of ordering tons at once is nice too.

Thanks Sam.  I will check this out.  I see your an old patient of Matia's like me.  How are your IC symptoms?

Hi there, well, overall, better than when I started, but still not much progress in the past year and a half.  I committed fully to no cheating on the diet for the past 6 weeks (before that I cheated once or twice a week with "safe" agave treats or dark chocolate because I was so fed up and got to a point where I could manage my symptoms well enough). Since January, I have noticed a minor improvement SOME days, but then I got sidelined with bronchitis for two weeks and since recovering from that I've been inconsistent.  Early morning burning is my main complaint STILL. It wakes me up around 5-6 and I can't fall back to sleep. Other than that, the more I drink water the worse I feel so if I have a light drinking day I feel generally okay, if I drink a lot, I feel burning and frequency.  Not trying to be negative whatsoever, I do believe in this program and I do believe I was stunting my progress with my cheats here and there.  This is just where I am at and I'm really frustrated. I still cannot tolerate anything except water, not coffee, tea or green tea.  But I'm generally okay on list 3 and have some things from list 4, even though I think I need to cut them back out.  So I feel fortunate that I can eat plenty of variety, but even more variety would be nice after all this time.
Thanks for checking in, how are you doing?

Gathering data from this forum, it is apparent that people who cheat or work in stressful environments have much tougher time recovering. Not that it is anyone’s fault. Of course, stress encourages cheating.
I hit a bad spot, not sure if what I did was cheating or just lack of knowledge or impatience. I felt like rushing through lists fast. I generally don't have bad reaction to food. And if I don't feel immediate flair, I tend to increase the amount of new foods fast, too. It catches up with me weeks later, but by then, it is hard to tell what exactly caused the issue.
Thank you for the information about beef.

Yes, thanks, I should clarify, I wasn't always intentionally cheating, most of the time I was eating something from a further down list thinking it would be okay, though I did get confused with some of the "safe" cheat items like Wax Orchard's Fudge sauce, thinking that it was okay to use sparingly but it really isn't okay.  I guess I just got a little lazy and fed up and thought, well it's better than sugar so I'm gonna treat myself to it since it's Matia approved.  Same with agave, like those Pamela's agave cookies and other homemade treats.  It got to the point where I felt no progress with or without those things that I justified it and kept doing it here and there to stay sane on this diet (which I love and follow wholeheartedly 99% of the time).
Had a nice chat with Matia today and she approved a couple more things for me to try so that will be helpful, even though Im not feeling like I've advanced at all.  Some days I wish I could go back to list 1 and start over but I honestly don't think I could unless I quit my job.
Good luck!

Hi Flygirl,
I think I remember reading a post that your pilot? That is pretty rare and neat, I haven't met many female pilots. Do you work for an airline? Is it stressful? I am asking because I am currently in the process of getting my CFI license, and am wondering what it would be like to actually work in the field. I work in the medical field right now, but flying is more of a passion of mine. Hope you start feeling better!
