Did anyone start out the protocol with constant symptoms?

I know that we are all differen but did anyone (everyone?) start out with constant symptoms? For me, I have constant bladder pressure and inflammation. When I flare, it gets worse but there is never a time when I don't have symptoms. Is anyone else the same or do you have periods/moments of normal bladder sensation among bladder pressure/inflammation/pain?

Well I can't speak for everyone, but I think we all started out with constant bladder symptoms. I know I had good periods and bad and mornings were always best for me, but in the beginning there was never a time when my bladder felt normal.

Hi Vin-
I was confused about this in thebeginning because people would talk about flares and I figured i was in one long flare.

I am not sure if I have ever felt normal since this all started. Even on my good days- I think I feel some weird stuff.

I definitely know when I get a serious flare as opposed to teh regular low level or medium level symptoms. My sister feels pretty normal in between flares but her flares seem worse than mine. Again we are all different but i don't hink you are alone.

I agree with the lovely ladies above! I don't believe I was pain free for even a moment until six months into treatment. (and almost another 6 before I even found Matia) The levels of discomfort varied greatly, but always there. Improvement, for me, began in very small windows and then grew until I had an entire day where I didn't feel the extreme flare. Then no discomfort, just sensitivity- then even that subsided.
Not that I am anywhere near healed, BUT I think the most important (and toughest) aspect is to just stay the course.... eat the right foods, walk everyday (very important for me) and get enough rest. Over time, putting into the physical bank of your body will pay off.... at least.... that's what I am betting on;)
You are not alone;)
P.S.  How is your sister doing, Deir? Has she visited LA yet?

I was a bad patient though, so I don't want to freak anyone out with my situation.  It took me a LONG time to get my eating situation under control.  I would cheat with really spicy food, and alcohol every few months, so I'm sure that caused my lengthy treatment time!!

yup, symptoms constant for me. I vividly remember peeing, taking five steps out of the loo and feeling like I needed to run back in again. After that constant urge went, I would still be in pain/discomfort in bladder/urethra/vagina/wherever 24/7. And like everyone else, I began with 20-minute quiet intervals, then longer, then longer, then a morning, then a whole day. Then a couple of days. Had 10 symptom-free days last month. Takes a long time, patience, absolute adherence to the diet. But it happens.

I started out with irritability and then periods of remission. I had a big flair starting this Jan 19 and since then I have had constant awareness of my bladder- except when I sleep. Most days pain is not greater than a 3 and often it is a 1. I am not sick but I felt as if I were starting to get sick before I started the diet mid Feb.

I have constant burning symptoms too.  Some days they are worse than others, but it is always there to some degree.
