Hi All,

I am male in my thirties. It has been 4 mnths for me in the treatemnt. I have no words to thank Dr Briz as I have am already seeing good improvements. I think she is really expert. But since she has a busy schedule, I thought of getting few opinions on this forum. Once I see some improvement with sitting, I will be more interactive & helpful on this forum

1. I have become too skinny so far with reduced waist size etc. Since I have been allowed List 2 two weeks back. Just based on your experiences what foods primarily can be included to get some body mass or fat and which brands should I be using like for cheese etc?

2. My IC symptoms have always been atypical with no bladder pain or frequency. Biggest issue has always been pelvic discomfort upon sitting & dull ache inside the buttocks upon sitting on even slightly hard surface. Still trying to figure out if its just inflammation or due to chronic tension in pelvis & associated weakness. I am worried as I have been tolerating it lately & not sure what impact can it lead to. No choice as my job field requires me to sit on hard at times. First part is a lot lot better but no improvement in dull ache yet. Any suggesstions ?

3. Anyone going thru similar sort of acute sitting issues or have to use cushion at all times  & may be your opinion how it has changed being in the treatment ?. Were you able to get rid of it & sit on any surface for rest of your life ?. I think strengthening is reqd but I have been told to wait for sometime as putting strain on inflammed muscles can be risky. Any opinions with strengthening or PT, may be later on?

4. I am also concerned about trasmission of IC thru sex. Being a male I think if not IC, baterial imbalance can certainly get trasferred to spouse and fetus. What has been your experience in terms of IC transmission to spouse/fetus

5. I have been told its most set of imabalances in body which cause inflammation and associated food senstivities. And it will get totally ok & normal for rest of the life. Has your diagnosis been labelled as IC or just systemic issue ?. What has been your experience being in treatment for few months or years. Upto what level have you been able to get back to normal permananetly

6. I understand at times how body will respond, is unpredictable. I also do see pfd/bloating at times. What few things in your case have caused rebounding symptoms at times

Thanks

I am able to keep weight leveled by eating Seven Farms youghurt, regular not slim or not non-fat, regular (again), the one that has nice buttery top with lots of good fat. Not sure if you are able to tolerate youghurt. I asked Dr B when I became conserned about weight. She told me to add quinoa.
You should ask her next time you talk.
My sitting is better, but it wasn't too bad to begin with. Once remained on diet for ~ 4 months, most of my issues were gone. I lost momentum when I started adding too much too soon. Stay on diet faithfully, you will continue seeing good progress (hopefully).
Best wishes.

What really helped me with weight gain, after shedding a lot of pounds (was already skinny to start with), was cheese, avocados and finally on list 3: nuts and nut butters. When i was able to tolerate these, I was able to snack more often as well. I had improvement on pelvic issues and sitting early on in treatment, only when i am flaring, i feel the need to sit on a softer cushion now. Good luck with your healing.

If your issue is bacterial with mycoplasma or ureaplasma it can be transmitted easily through sex or even gential contact. Yeast can also be transferred.
I would ask Dr. B any other questions you have.

And try to look at the positive. I encourage people to visit www.katysays.com to hear from a biomechanist about the negatives of sitting ( I KNOW we all have to do it) But standing work stations, learning how to stand in alignment (not locking your knees or bracing your knees, weight in your heels) with your bones stacked properly (all of this info on her website and professional website) is so good for cardiovascular health, bone health, etc...Google the negative impacts of sitting. There are many recent articles on this. It is good food for thought. At least then we can be a bit more positive about the health benefits of standing, since sitting right now may not be comfortable for some of us! Feel free to email me directly if you want more tips on how to stand aligned for your health.

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.
