Hi all,

 

Thanks for all your encouragement, just wanted to let you know that I've booked my appointment for the 5th December. Am flying across from the UK with Virgin a few days before giving me a  chance to explore LA and have a little holiday. Hopefully I won't be in a flare up and can enjoy it. I'm planning to stay in a youth hostel to keep the costs down but I think it might be fun, I'll buy some earplugs!  :)

Hi Jess,
I have my first appt on the 5th of December also, I am looking forward to getting started on this program. I now live close to LA so my commute is only 1 1/2 hours, but I am originally from the UK, been living in the US for many years now though.

Thanks everyone :) Looking forward to my appointment if not my 11 hour flight - nice selection of on board films though!
And hi Cathy, might see you there! Hope it all goes well for you. Any advice on things to do in LA as I'm there for a little while, would be great to get some pointers from a local? The weather certainly looks a lot nicer than in the UK right now!

I hope you flight goes fast for you, I often fly back to England to visit my family so I know what thats like, though I have not flown there for 2 years now. I have only been diagnosed about 12 weeks ago but have been suffering since July 2011. I am hoping to go back there for a trip in the summer, if my bladder allows me to travel. Right now I only have mild discomfort in the bladder and frequency, up so many times at night. Started on Elmiron 12 weeks ago and it is starting to help, but I will be stopping that once I see DR Brizman. I am hopeful that after this treatment, I will be back to being healthy, luckily I dont have any other problems that are sometimes associated with IC so hoping the road to recovery will be fast. I usually go to England every year but this has prevented me fro doing that.
There are lots of things to see in LA depending on what you like, if you like the beach, there is Santa Monica that you can visit, one nice place to go is Universal Studios.
What time is your appt, mine is 12 o'clock
