Hello Everyone!
I don't often post asking for help, but I am struggling! This has been a long road for me and am thankful I have finally found and Dr and a wonderful group of ladies that can at least relate in part to what has been ailing me for years! Anyway, not to scare anyone, but I have been in treatment for just over 21 months, and still trying to figure out what it is in my diet that sends me into a tail spin and have nightmarish nights like last evening!:( These nights scare me, excruciating pain, that causes me to sweat and feel so nauteous and on the brink of wanting to head to the emergency room for some pain relief.
I am wondering what reactions people get to foods? I am starting to think maybe it is potatoes, but I don't know?! Sometimes I do okay and other days I feel like my insides are rotting! I just want to move forward! I am anxious for my appointment this week to hopefully get some pain relief and some clarification! I hate feeling this way!
Thanks everyone for just listening! I am just feeling really down and defeated at the moment! I know with time and patience this surely will turn around and will no longer be in fear of eating!
Cprince I know things will
Cprince I know things will turn around for you. I read a while back that when there is much confusion about food reactions, to really limit (with Dr. B's permission) and add back in slowly. Maybe you have already done this? Maybe when you meet with her she will have some specific suggestions on how to do that.
Did you talk with Nadia--the Nadia with the lovely food website? (I forget what exactly her screen name is?). She had a lot of intollerance to foods even later in treatment and still got through. Maybe she could recommend a cautious way to eliminate foods so that you can really calm things down before introducing them.
Did Dr. B say if you were not tollerating something, to go back to something else? For example, some people could not tolerate potatoes, but could tolerate spelt, or vice versa. Are there a few things you used to be able to tolerate, that you have been avoiding, that you could try again?
Ask Dr. B specifically how long to leave out a suspect food. 2 weeks? 2 months?
At home do you have a chlorine filter for your shower? Use soap nuts for laundry and dishwashing and hand washing? It is a little pricey if you buy it in the concentrate, but the soap nut sachets seem to be reasonable. I read that a former patient here only uses soap nuts now for cleaning. Could you ask Dr. B about this? Also, the chlorine filter for bath and shower? There are whole-house filters that are pretty reasonably priced too.
((Hugs)) Keep us posted.

cprince,
cprince,
I know exactly how you feel. I am still extremely limited in what I can eat because a lot of foods even one list 1 bother my gut and so they bother my bladder also. I've been in treatment for 20 months. It's so frustrating and I sometimes feel defeated because of it too. But even though it's taking longer for us, we will get there. I just keep reminding myself to never give up. it's the ones that never give up that get better.
Thank you ladies! My pain
Thank you ladies! My pain levels have come down to a tolerable level, and will be discussing my food with Dr. B in more detail! Just so hard to firgure this out! I wouldn't think it would be this hard to figure out after almost 2 years, but patience is the definitely the key with this treatment, and I know we will figure this out! I have removed several things for extended periods of time throughout treatment. I may have to take a few more things out to figure this out, but nothing matters more than getting control of then pain! Taking one day at a time!
Cprince, I hope you have a
