Hi,

I need suggestions for toothpaste (with flouride?) and shampoo and conditioner for thin hair that can get frizzy easily. I use aveeda's smooth infusion and will really miss it but I need to try to eliminate anything that may be causing problems. Was anyone able to use Dr Haushka products safely?  I have a friend who gets it for me fairly affordably and will also miss that if I can't use it. Someone mentioned Gabrielle' s skin care products so I will try to look for that.  Also, I use a weleeda rose deodorant spray. I was wondering if anyone had success with that.  What deodorant do most find best - I don't need a heavy one.

Also, I live in NY and  have been using the Poland spring water and the Saratoga spring water. I like the Saratoga spring because it comes in glass.  Does anyone know if that is an acceptable one?  is there a way to determine the ph values of the water on your own?

Thanks,

Sue

Sue, I googled Saratoga Spring Water PH:

Looks fine to me??
I would personally NOT use Dr. H. products OR Aveda.  I imagine they have all kinds of essential oils and things we should not use in treatment. Trust me that things that appear natural or benign can cause inflammation. For example, I asked Dr. B if I could apply honey to my acne. She said no and that it would cause me to flare! Just buy your shampoo and conditioner at the Bomamed Store on-line. (That is what I would do). You dont have to wait to go to the office. Dr. B has already controlled for all of the risky ingredients.

Hello Mimi,
Try 1 caps of goldenseal and mix it with jojoba oil for the acne. Leave it overnight. Does wonders for my skin. For moisturizer I mix the bomasense lotion with the calendula cream. Works great as well.
I am 11 months in treatment now and my skin is finally clearing up.

Anneke, Thank you for the recommendation. I will ask Dr. B about the goldenseal. It is the "opposite" herb that she is using for me in treatment, and when I had tooth pain she told me to use the most minute amount of goldenseal, so I am not sure I would be allowed this right now. But I will check with her. Also, did you have acne before treatment? The reason I ask is that I have had acne all of my adult life (I hope this protocol will help) and Jojoba oil is on the list as a very strong acne aggrevator. If one is not prone to breakouts, it may work great, if one is, it make make things worse. So I am scared to use it.

Hi Mimi,
Yes I have had acne in my adult life, it  has always been a problem for me.Since doing this treatment I could not use the usual acne products and my skin happens to be a major detox organ so it became a lot worse. I am using goldenseal in my treatment but i once read on the forum you could also mix olive oil with 1 mega and put it on the affected areas.
for me the jojoba is not making things worse but calms my skin. If I mix with only water it is extremely drying. Finally since 11 months I see skin improvement. I know I have hormonal imbalance that is causing the acne also the dairy is making things worse, so I have to leave them out as well for the moment. Maybe it is best to ask Matia before trying.

Thanks Anneke
I do think the mega might help calm down the active buggers. I suspect dairy is making things worse. When I am done with treatment I plan to try some raw dairy, as I have read it does not seem to wreak havok on the skin like commercial/processed dairy does. But not safe for us to do raw yet. Dr. B says late in treatment, on a case by case basis. I really love my yogurt and I sometimes have an ounce or two of cheese. Some of the natural gurus on skin stuff have said that cream and butter are not as hard on acne. Not sure why. But I love the cream in my coffee. Maybe when my diet has more variety I will try to avoid dairy for a while...sigh....

Hi Sue, I agree with Mimi! I also purchased unscented shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion from Bomamed website.  The products are fantastic and that's all I use.  I have been told that my skin looks better and honestly it also feels smoother.   I love the products.  As for toothpaste and deodorant I'm using Tom's of Maine products. I hope this helps.
