I have been in treatment for almost 8 months & while I have had improvements I still have a lot of pain. I would trade all of the stupid small improvements for just a little less pain. I'm also having horrifying constipation which adds to the awful discomfort. I've been so positive through this process and while I know I don't have any other options than to keep fighting I just don't understand why I read so many people have so much reduction of pain early on????
Can anyone who has gone through treatment & has come across this but is now doing better give me some advice. I'm feeling as if I am working so hard & not seeing the one thing that is the most crippling improve. I just want to feel better!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Amy!
Hi Amy!
Unfortunately I don't have much advice, but I totally hear you! I have been in treatment just over 22 months and pain is my main issue as well! I have more stomach pain than bladder pain, but it is unrelenting! So wish I had an answer for you, but wanted to let you know you are not alone! Hang in there, we will make it through this! I will be thinking of you! Oh, if I remember correctly you just had a birthday! Happy belated birthday and hope you were able to enjoy your celebration with your family!
Oh honey ((((Hug)))) If you
Oh honey ((((Hug)))) If you go back and look at posts from Angela- she is a really old patient- it might cheer you up. I don't think she had much improvement for a really long time but has gone on to be doing extremely well. I am a slow one too although I don't think my pain levels are near yours so. I really think there are more of us but they just don't post. I know at a certain point the success s tories and encouraging improvement posts can start to be more scary than helpful when you don't see it in yourself. Remember there is a lot of stuff happneing under the surface that you can't feel. I am thinking of you. You are working hard and it will pay off.
Amy,
Amy,
I was going to recommend that you contact Angela as she really helped me make a huge shift in healing after hearing her explain her struggles but her ultimate success with healing with Dr B's help. She never gave up under insurmountable obstacles and feels like she is completely healed today. She herself got inspiration from a woman from England I believe who also worked with Dr B. It is in speaking with women who have made the journey that can light a torch for us in the darkest of times. I hope by reaching out to her she is able to help you through this.

Thisis really hard but for me, what ele can I do instead besides get a steroid shot in each knee which I know won't fix it. I think that we just have to keep on keeping on.(Letting Dr. B know your concerns, of course.) I can't give myself good advice and believe it but I can tell you- my bladder got so much better almost all of a sudden in November after 10 months. Before that I would hve told you it wasn't healing. I am so sorry that you are in pain.
I hope that a few months down the line, you will be writing others and telling them that it will get better. Love, Bonnie
Hi Pico,
Hi Pico,
Do you have Angela's email address or know how I could get in touch with her?
I have been in treatment for 16 months and could use some encouragement.
Thanks
Breis
Amy,
Amy,
I've been in treatment 21 months and pain is still my main issue. I've had so many ups and downs, changes in protocol, no cheating, etc. I recently had a horrible six weeks where my pain was up in the 7-8 range much of the time. Now that I'm through with that, I'm feeling better than ever! I have had level 3-4 pain several days in a row with only short periods of increased pain. I finally feel like I'm turning a corner.
As others did, I would encourage you to email Angela. I talked to her a few weeks ago and it was so good! After I spoke with her, I finally started to be able to imagine my life without pain. I have always believed that this treatment works, but I couldn't fathom what it would feel like to not have my bladder be a major limitation anymore. Now my hope has been bolstered by this lovely woman who is so happy to reach out, and that has helped my healing tremendously.
Hi, I am brand new to this
Hi, I am brand new to this treatment of Dr. B. I have had IC for 13 years and just came across Dr. B's dissertation which informed me that she treated patients. I had my first appointment on Feb. 13, 2013 and have started the diet and herbs. I am struggling with the diet b/c I have terrible food allergies. Does anyone else have severe food allergies with their IC? I had a reaction to who know's what, maybe beef or spelt flour, but had to take Benadryl to keep my tongue from swelling. My pain issues are much better, but I am having a terrible time tolerating the food on a daily basis since I am suppose to rotate my foods in order to avoid a new allergy. Has anyone experienced such problem with their food and how did you deal with it?
Hello Heather and welcome! Oh
Hello Heather and welcome! Oh, food, I don't have problems so much with anaphalxis type reactions to food, but significant shearing pains or feeling as if a hole is being burned right through my stomach! I have learned over the past 22 months which foods I absolutely must avoid to manage pain levels, and with any accedidental exposure I suffer the consequences! I had never gone through specific allergy testing so didn't know what I was reacting to and never tried an elimation diet before starting treatment with Dr B. My best advice I guess would be trying each food separately, if you are not exactly sure what you are reacting to. It is not an easy process, but over time it does get easier and will find out exactly what foods you are reacting to. I don't have much options from my food list for rotating my food, so I don't have any suggestions there. Hope you are able to quickly identify irritating foods and not have to deal with a swollen tongue again! Take care!
