Do any of you have any weird symptopms when you added coffee back in? I just recently started coffee, although been approved for quite some time now. My bladder seems to be ok with it, but my head feels heavy and foggy. I feel like someone took my head and shook it a few times and i have birds flying over...i thought after few years of not drinking, adding it back would make me just the opposite, as a stimulant.Instead I feel foggy, anxious and lack of focus. So weird!!!
Selichan,
Selichan,
The image you created made me laugh so hard.
Coffee has always made me feel this way. I get a lot of energy from it but I never know where to direct it.. I've learned to love the smell and taste of it, unfortunately, though I'd probably do best without it.

Thanks Sue. I think i am going to mention to Matia about this next time. I've read in past posts that coffee may help some who has IC, then others mentioned it increases inflammation. I LOVE the smell of it, and would be nice to be able to drink coffee occasionally. Although with so much sacrifice already made on this diet, thankfully this is not something i couldn't live without. Maybe I'll give it a few more tries and also try decaf next time and see how that goes. :)
Selichan, have you tried a
Selichan, have you tried a really good quality organic coffee from hopefully a local roaster? Also, you cold buy it on line and have it shipped from a small roasting company? I drink really good stuff and it does not effect me at all, but I realize we are all different. I just wouldn't want you to have to miss out if we could find a blend that works! It is such a treat for me!! (With cream! Yum!)

Selichan,
Selichan,
One more thing I wanted to mention is that it was highly recommended that I use a french roast because it had a lower acidity to it than others. I think this makes a big difference in it's effect on me. Plus I actually prefer the flavor! I agree with Mimi in using an organic and a better grade of coffee if you are going to drink it at all. It may also make the difference to how it effects you. Let me know if any of this changes thnigs for you. I know I can't drink decaffeinated for some reason - it actually made me get spasms and hurt my bladder - but I was also not drinking the french roast when I drank it so maybe that was the reason.
Bonnie,
Don't worry about ever not replying. I fully understand when things get overwhelming and never gave it a thought. I hope some of my suggestions helped.

I've been drinking coffee
I've been drinking coffee since month 2. It has always caused immediate frequency, which is super annoying. UNTIL I got an espresso maker this Xmas (the Nespresso machines) and I have tolerated coffee SO much better! I think it's because espresso is so much purer and less acidic.
Could nto tolerate coffe or
Could nto tolerate coffe or tea til month ten of treatment. And boy did I feel sorry for myself.
Positivegal, thanks for the
Positivegal, thanks for the tip. We have an espresso machine which I never use. I will dust off and try!. The frequency drives me nuts too.
