Cod liver oil?

Hello everyone!

Has anyone had increased bladder and urethral burning with adding in cod liver oil? Dr. B switched me from vit D to 1 tsp cod liver oil yesterday! I am now experiencing a lot of burning, but also was given the ok to have a little almond butter for my birthday treat! I had 1 tsp almond butter mixed with my yogurt, so maybe that is the culprit? Grr! (The almond butter was totally worth it, if that is the cause!) I should note that my burning is typically more intense in my stomach compared to my bladder, particularly with food sensitivities! Thanks for your help!

OMG! That's so funny! She put me on cod liver oil too. I started this morning on 1/4 teaspoon and my bladder is not happy :( It's tingling, burning, very aggitated...frequency...it's gotta be the cod liver oil....dammit!

So sorry you are dealing with this too! I have been searching everywhere to find any reactions to cod liver oil and they all seem to say how it is so helpful with die-off symptoms etc. I DO NOT agree! Eek! I don't think it was the almond butter, too many things going crazy to just be the tsp of almond butter! Trying to hold out to see if things settle! I will keep my fingers crossed that this passes for the both of us!

I know! I looked too...and your post popped up...very funny. Hmmm I wonder what it is about the cod liver oil? I skipped my afternoon dose of it because I was taking the girls on an Easter egg Hunt...and I was fine...but I guess I'll put it back in my dinner dose and see what happens. Did your flare die down?

Hey ladies,
I was on CLO awhile back and it was OK for awhile and then I had a horrible burning episode.  We took it out and I've been on Vit D ever since.  This was over a year ago and she hasn't tried me on it again.  It must work for some people but I think it may be burn-y for others.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the response Claire! I am on Vitamin D3 and now Cod Liver Oil too...the oil is suppose to replace the goldenseal and oil of oregano we just took out...I am experiencing swollen glands in the mouth and neck...and the Cod Liver Oil is suppose to address that....
Plus, I think my bladder yuckiness today is now due to die-off....because I feel flu like too :( Oh well it's all good..hopefully I can keep taking it and it will be helpful :)
Love the name by the way :)
Take Care,
Claire

Thanks Claire for posting that you had issues with this as well! Yes, I agree everyone reacts a little differently!
Claire (livandlex) I also feel major die-off! So wired! I didn't think that cod liver oil would reek such havoc! I am about ready to take a bath in goldenseal or yoghurt! Oh my goodness I am an itching, burning mess! I have a very sore throat, dry cough, sinuses congestion and canker sores! What is going on?! Bring it on yeast, your loosing this battle! Just wish the battle didn't have to be so blasted painful! Finally gave in and emailed Dr. B just to let her know! She may just want me to push through! Claire, how did your evening dose go? Hope you and the girls had a good time at the Easter egg hunt!

Cprince I hope and trust that this die off will bring you some nice progress!!!
I think Bonnie has used CLO with mixed results.

Thanks Mimi! As crazy and yucky all this is, I am quite excited almost at the 2 year mark and I think we are breaking through! Yay! This has been a long and hard fought battle and I will not give in! Die you yeasties! Still a long way to go, but this brings big hope that things are on their way out!:)
Claire, so glad your evening dose went better! Haha! Yes, it does seem we have similar symptoms and changes in protocol at the same time! Not that this is fun, but nice to have someone going through similar reactions knowing that it is not so abnormal and perhaps a good thing! Dr. B said it is massive die off and wants me to push through as much as possible, she is afraid to make a change at this point with my stomach feeling better between doses! I will win this battle and pushing through, and will make adjustments if meeded at my appointment on Tuesday! I am also having huge fatigue and muscle weakness! All a part of the fun, I'm sure!:-P

Yet another question about cod liver oil. Do any of you get really greasy hair? My hair is just greasy and gross and it started pretty soon after starting the cod! Yuck! I feel and look like a total grease ball! Any tips to help this issue?

I have always been oily. I have to wash my hair every morning and I rarely use conditioner. Would that help??

Thanks Mimi! Yes, I've always had a tendency to get oily hair and it is a must to wash my hair daily! I will not use conditioner for a few days to see if it helps!

Is anyone still on Cod? I just started today for joint pain. The good news is my bladder has been doing well for about 4 days (don't jinx!-whatever that means!)/. If so, how is it going?

Hi Mimi! Yes, still on cod now just cod and 1/4 mega! Yucky! I am also on it for joint pain. I think Dr. B is trying to rule out if this is causing more stomach and bladder pain for me because she cut everything else out! Just guessing though! It seemed to cause a lot of die off issues, and still dealing with that a bit! Glad you have had good days with your bladder! Yay! Happy thoughts for you with starting the cod! It will go great!:)

Thanks Christina!
I am feeling a bit anxious about adding a new thing in, the last 4 days I have felt like my old self (except the joint pain, which is not terrible, but my right knee is concerning me). I hope you get adjusted to the cod and that the die off will help you move forward. It seems some of these steps are not very obvious or linear, but they are all leading where we need to go....

Christina, Mimi
i was just taken off Cod but I would put the 1/2 tsp. in my water mixed with my Mega stir it up & drink it down... I could hardly taste it, wasn't bad at all!

Hi Amy! Lucky to be off the cod! Haha! Yeah, it wasn't too bad mixed together with the mega and water, surprisingly! Dr. B just cut the mega for me, and said to just take the cod without mixing it in water!:( Totally going with the plug the nose method Tinkerbell suggested! Thanks Tinkerbell!:)
