Hi All,
I'm just at the start of list 4 and was curious to find out from anyone here who is list 4 onwards where your symptoms are at? Especially to anyone here on list 5.... are you pretty much symptom free now to be allowed on that list and how long does Dr B think you have to now stay on that list before you are healed?
I guess this is more out of curiosity than anything else. I don't think I've ever seen anyone post that they're on list 5. I'm almost symptom free these days (although I can go weeks and weeks with practically no symptoms and then hit a big flare so who knows how long I still have to go) and I feel like this last part of the healing process is somewhat plateauing for me so I'm curious to know what the last part of the healing process is/was like for anyone out there in those stages? I sometimes even wonder if it would be better for me to stick back to list 3 as much as possible to heal faster?
Anyway, love to hear from anyone at this stage of their healing process.
Love to you all xo
SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am on list 1 so cannot help you AT ALL except in my insane excitement that SOMEONE is eating all of that delicious food. WOO HOO!
Congrats!! :)
Haha oh thanks Hannah! You
Haha oh thanks Hannah! You know what the ironic thing is though.... after months of eating so super healthy I'm actually avoiding a lot of the stuff on list 4 that I'm allowed to eat that I feel might take me backwards in my healing. I'm even being lean on the fruit from list 3! Months of eating the way I have been has certainly changed my outlook on diet!
You'll get there soon enough though!! :)
Hi Miss CC,
Hi Miss CC,
Congrats on making it to list 4! I was given the green light a few months ago to start eating off list 4 as well and I am very tentative about the whole thing. So far, so good, but I really eat off the earlier lists much more.
There are people on list 5 who occasionally post here, search for Nadia, the lovely lady who has the IC recipe blog and you'll see she's on list 5.
I asked Matia once if it's best to back track on the lists when flaring, and she said it was. I don't think that means you'll heal faster if you're only eating off the earlier lists, it just means its less irritating to the bladder. That said, I have weird little theories about certain veggies that are "better" than others for healing, but I think a lot of it is neurosis at this point. I can't imagine trying mangoes! I haven't had fruit (other than the list 3 blueberries) since 2009 and it's hard to wrap my brain around taking the blinders off at the store.
Sometimes I'll buy new foods, planning to try them, and then I'll chicken out and they'll go bad in the fridge. Keep us posted on your forays into list 4, maybe it'll give me some courage to be more adventurous!
Hello i have just been given
Hello i have just been given the go ahead to start list 5. I have been in treatment for 3.5 years. I considered myself a medium level case- never bedridden went to work, but suffered form burning, low abdominal ache , clitoral hypersensitivity ( I call It) at times. I also had muscle aches, indigestion and lactose issues. I always seemed to take care of myself diet and never abused alcohol etc. I had antibiotics as a young child for a lot of ear infections? Matia said i seemed to be set up for it irritable bowel issues, birth control (depo provera 3 shots as well), some electrolysis for like 7-8 mos .
So i have been managed well by Matia felt 80 % better and have lived a normal life for the most part . So glad to have her she has been correct so many times! I have been on list 4 since late fall. Now was told to start list 5. I am cautious - Since the fall i have had probably 4 flares and things have been adjusted small changes. Like ginsing gave me headaches ++, Vit d makes my bladder cranky but i can take cod liver oil, I am back on Reh. Peonnia . Now in the last 2 weeks i have low abdominal ache ??? unsure why. I have emailed her last night , i am aware again that this condition is still present to some degree. I don't know how long it will take to be symptom free.
I tend to eat fruit as a dessert after a meal- i can have a few grapes, pineapple, i do find with apples and pears & oranges. I try to limit fruit to 2 servings a day, if i am in a flare i ease back to a small amt. i have tolerated oatmeal cooked small amt 2-3 times a mos. I have had 1-2 sweetened agava desserts a mos Matia says try more? But when i flare i don't want to. My bladder doesn't love cinnamon. I think she needs to get us to the next list to see how our body does with it as she wants us to function well eating lots. All part of the healing i guess- i don't mind eating like this at all for life...but hate when i flare when i think i was almost healed!!!!!! keep positive i can tend to be a bit negative . nice to hear from all of you in this 4/5 list .. does anyone have any more comments/ insights normal to be still flaring a bit?
Hi Ceb
Hi Ceb
I beg you to try some pink grapefruit (either with yogurt or after a meal). It is a flavor explosion and list 3!! Such a treat!
