I can't believe I am still here sking these questins but whatever- it is what it is!
I understand that too much peroxide is bad for us but even the natural blonde dyes contain it. If I was to get partial foil highlights, I can't see why this would be a big issue. Does someone have a clear reason other than "Don't get highlights"
I have been doing horribly and in spite of that, I am going to be performing in a show in July- The first time in 5 flippin years. I am trying to look as good as I can and I also need to get new headshots for this that I will more than likely use for the next 5 years (if i ever audition again- I am not sure what is going to happen)
I would get a few foils which would not touch my skin and I could sit outside while they process. Any opinions?
As you can see, I am having a hard time being positive. This show is the most exciting thing I have had going on for a long time and I want to look as good as possible.
by "natural" blonde dyes i
by "natural" blonde dyes i mean the ones from Whole Foods
From what I remember,
From what I remember, naturtint brand hair dyes is approved for list 2. I used it once last fall. I was on list 3/4 and had a minor flare.. but my hair looked nice. Flare lasted a day or two. I would think if you used this for highlights ( without touching skin), that might be the safest option?
I have used natur color and
I have used natur color and it does make me worse for a day so i only do it once every 5 months about. But I am just wondering why it is so bad to do teh professional highlights if the natural ones have peroxide too?
I wonder the same thing. I
I wonder the same thing. I haven't had my hair highlighted since starting treatment. I don't need too, but kind of enjoyed having my hair done, but saving a ton of money. Always a plus! I asked my hair dresser if she would apply the highlights if I brought my own and she said she wouldn't so I will go without. Just waiting for the greys to start showing then I will have to start seriously figuring this out. My mom started to grey in her early 30's, but my dad still had no grey hair at 48 especially when his hair was growing back after chemo. I can hope I inherited his good hair color genes.
I have more and more grays
I have more and more grays coming inbut my hair is blonde so it isn't too bad but if I could get highlights, it would be a lot less noticeable
I have highlighted my hair
I have highlighted my hair for years. In my case, Matia said it was fine as long as the bleach doesn't touch my scalp. I just tell my hair dreser to highlight it about 1/4 inch from the roots. For special occasions, I wil have regular highlights and then flare for a few days afterward. I tried the natural dye and it turned my hair orange due to my light ash brown base. I hope this helps:o)
thanks! The orange is my
thanks! The orange is my issue too. I just HATE my hair when it is that reddish color. I am naturally a bit of a strawberry blonde but it is a fine line between nice and hideous.
