I keep meaning to post about Ghee. Ghee is a clarified butter and butter is allowed on all my diet lists, but, for some reason ghee is not ok. Ghee flares people and, I am unsure why.
This just came up with a patient recently, which, reminded me to post on this today.
If you are using ghee, and especially if you are not doing well, please stop.

Thank you!!
I am so glad you posted this!! I always wondered about ghee and was just going to get some to try some while my cousin was visiting this weekend. We're planning on cooking some fun, IC friendly receipes together!!! We'll stick with butter.

That is very interesting and surprising. I am pretty sure ghee has even less casein than butter so i wonder if it has to do with the interplay between the components. Another example of how complicated everything is!
edited to add: This fascinated me and I just did some quick amateur research on ayurvedic information. Apparently when one is in a state of "high Amma" which seems ot be the ayurvedic idea of toxic or sluggish pathways they should avoid ghee completely even though for most things, Ayurvedic medicine seems to say that ghee is one of the most healing and holy substances. I would think IC is most clear example of toxic and sluggish pathways! I guess it correlates a little with things like bone broth which are so stimulating to the immune system?
interesting
I have to say, I can reason most things, but this one baffles me. I am sure I am missing something really obvious.

I didn't believe Ghee could be problematic, but I have to say that increases urgency feeling, just bizarre.
