Hello all, i have been enjoying Matia's mango body lotion for the past year or so. I had to order Reh. p any way. Now that i am on zuo giu wan instead of RP and was running out of body cream i just ordered the lotion from bomamed but never went through as it was going to cost me $ 60.00 to get the cream to canada from calif.!! What do you guys on list 4 use for body lotion besides olive oil & jojoba oil? My bladder is cranky  for the past few mos and she put me on zuo giu wan, anyone have good luck with this product who needed nourishment and more moisture for the body to heal? thanks Jeannie

Body lotion for list 4

Seems like a lot of people use olive oil as a moisturizer. A mild one so the smell is not too strong. A few drops of jojoba oil for body is great. I use it on my legs and it leaves them very soft. I can't use these oils on my face as I still break out. Only a few drops. Less is more with oil. Also might be nice to use right out of the shower when skin is still damp.

Thanks for posting. Would you mind telling us newer folks how long you have been in treatment and a little about your progress?

I have been in treatment for a year and my bladder has had many very good days and some low symptom days and no more flares which is great but still have bloating, mild acne, athletes foot and toenail fungus and right knee/heel pain and minor heart palpitations so still have a ways to go. The bloating is really frustrating as I used to be able to wear anything and now look for very loose clothing.

Ask Dr. Brizman if you can add a few drops of lavender oil to your olive or jojoba oil. Sweeet almond oil might be ok too. Lavender is ok on list 4. You can add the oil and essential oil to some spring water and keep in a mister. Shake vigerously and add after bath/shower.

Jeannie,
Where in Canada are you?  I'm in Toronto.  If you're nearby, we can get together and order our stuff together once in while to save on shipping costs.

Willow I live in P.E.I so we won't be able to get together to share shipping costs too bad.  Thanks for the suggestions  Mimi I can ask about adding lavender . Never even thought about that . I would like a nice cream for my hands during the winter months that wasn't greasy  initially . Oh I've been in treatment for 4 years , I'm a moderate case I guess - good up bringing . Never abused my body always ate well , had some issues with birth control the pill - yeast infections and bladder infection 2-3 times a year. Went on depo provera ( birth control injection once every 3 mos) it was then I felt like a was getting a bladder infection every now and then treated with cipro ( I'm a nurse). On the second day of cipro I developed a burning bladder which lasted for a couple of months ! Of course I was lactose intolerant , had some electrolysis treatment over a year off & on . Set myself up for IC unknown to me . I was 30 years old then - for a couple of years I looked for help - tried elm iron for 3 mos, rimsco installations  & heparin . I got pregnant for my third daughter - bladder settled in my 5 th mos. I wasn't on any meds . Bladder got bad  again burning & low abdominal ache 6 weeks postpartum. Found Matia 2 years later in 2009 .

I've never looked back so pleased that someone could take charge of my bladder as I was constantly trying new things & researching. Matia has been right so many times. I never cheated on the diet - I'm not perfect though I wonder if I'm eating enough raw vs cooked vegs and acess to organic here is difficult. I decked washed my deck for a few days this summer and breathing in the fumes even outside flared my bladder . This is hard slow work - but worth it . I never had much die off - some eczema . I had really bladder comfortable months , but for the last 6 mos my bladder is not as happy  small discomfort s , as we try to figure out what I need now. We chat every 11-12 weeks and she answers emails in between as needed . I have no complaints about food as I am told to use agava and maple syrup at times but - I'm waiting to get over this bump in the road again. Can anyone relate this far into treatment ?

Thank you so much for sharing, Jeannie. I really appreciate reading your story and where you are now four years later. May you get over this bump in the road very quickly!

Jeanne thanks SO MUCH for sharing. You have worked very hard. I am sure Dr. Brizman will figure out what you need next!!
did you change any soaps or anything recently or household products? Someone posted a while back that high omega content, grass-fed milk they were drinking was bothering them, so sometimes a new food if it is too strong.
Please, please, let us know when you are feeling better!! Sometimes those in treatment longer post something and then disappear back into their lives as soon as they are feeling better again (understandable!!) but it is nice for those of us checking these boards to hear back from people.

I hear you about several months good and then bingo. But this I know those several months good are owed to the hard work and research of Matia Brizman. She never gave up on this frustrating disease. I only went to my urologist 2 times. The first time he told me maybe it's just menopause, the next time he told be it's IC and there is NOTHING I can do for you. The treatment is worse than the disease. I told him nevermind I'm going to a new doctor who has done a PHD on it. I never looked back, there isn't really another solution out there that I know of that does what this diet, and her herbs and the probiotics do. But I have to be super careful too. A few good weeks of little pain and then I'll eat Indian food, ouch, or try a new bath something, ouch or not drink enough water, ouch or drink too much tea, ouch. I listen to my body and the ouches and backtrack to the beginning, going back to list 1 or 2 for a few days or weeks until the ouch goes away and then experiment some more. But no matter how many ouch days I have every good day I thank God over and over for the insight and hard work and caring of Matia Brizman and her husband. I would be lost in a burning bladder hell without her..Thanks to all of you for your interesting and loving posts, I like to read them..

Thank you so much for updating us! I agree with you wholeheartedly on thanking God for Matia and Boaz. I am so very thankful. I appreciate your details as to what caused some of the "ouches" in your bladder. I have been with Matia two years on the 27th of this month. When I look back on the horrible pain I was in that Thanksgiving compared to now, I am again so thankful not to have that burning bladder this Thanksgiving. I had a rough two weeks this past month with my bowels, and Dr. B has been getting me through it. I can't tolerate night shades, dairy, and gluten presently, but I am seeing amazing progress in my body. Thank you again so much for sharing your progress with us! Hugs and prayers for your return to better balance again.
