Hello! I'm new here and have not yet had my first appointment. I've been reading a lot about people feeling foggy while taking the prescribed herbs. I'm a little worried about how that will affect me while I'm at work...my job requires me to be thinking clearly at all times. Has anyone had any problems at work caused by this? Yikes, just another thing to worry about.
brain fog
Welcome Kit88! Like everything with this treatment I'm not totally sure everyone has this problem to a big level. This particular problem has been a major issue for me- but interestingly I have come to realise that I have struggled with "brain fog" for a long long time- way way before I started treatment. It was actually only after I had been taking the herbs for quite some time that my brain fog improved. So the herbs are good. The herbs have been getting a bad rap lately! It wasn't so much the herbs themselves causing fogginess but perhaps the dieoff dynamic of the herbs applied to the yeast and other microbes. So in early treatment I was foggy to begin with and I had bouts where yes it got worse but then I would have windows where my depression was gone and my head was clear! The brain fog manefested in different ways - short term memory impaired-(did I just take my probiotics or not?) or cotton candy feeling in my head to having trouble focusing on a project in front of me. I found ways to cope with this at work as I work in a financial office and details are of the utmost importance. I carried a notepad with me everywhere, I had to get good quality rest, I emailed everything so I had records to refer to, and just did things more throughly and carefully, I double checked, I asked for help in proofing, I explained the problem to my supervisor,( temporary okay)! tried to give myself plenty of time to get ready in the morning, explored brain/body exercises for memory and staying grounded/clear, kept good notes, dayplanner, I just had to work extra hard at staying on top of things. It's not impossible to do your job well with brain fog but it can impact your performance if you let it. The silver lining is you will notice as you go through treatment that your brain is working better and you feel clearer than you ever felt. It was such a gradual decline that I didn't realize how limiting the brain fog had become for me. It had become normal for me. I'm 31 and was feeling like totally senile. It gets better and then it gets much much better. If its a concern talk to Matia maybe about ways to minimize the impact of brain fog- she would queak the formula to give me something to help clear my head and help my depression. It wasn't bad 100% of the time and it only gets better. Thanks!Mary
brain fog
I feel like I had it more when I was not in treatment. I had this cotton like feeling in the front of my head, that made it hard to focus or retain new info. I have been in treatment with the supplements for one month now. I am not on any herbs at this point. I have to say the brain fog issue has gotton better. I do not think everyone gets the problem, it is an individiual issue. If you did not ever have it before treatment, you may not get it with it. But, if you do, it is manageable. II am not totally out of commission, I still run a home with a husband and 3 kids, while watching another child during the week, I also take college courses online. This is all while I am in die off. Matia is great about adjusting things too, so if you can't handle something she will help you with it.

At the beginning of treatment, I knew that my brain was foggy but I realised how much so, several months into treatment, when the brain fog lifted and I recovered so much more clarity. I had gotten accustomed to living with a sluggish brain and I started to think that some of it was normal. The herbs might make you a little foggier, but in my experience, I've always found ways to cope while working. I'm usually on stage, depending on my brain to perform from memory. Although I totally feel your concern about performing at your job, I want to reassure you that you are more likely to get excited from gaining more clarity, soon.
