Insanely itchy elbows

Hi all,

Any ideas for relief for insanely itchy patches of eczema (I think) on my elbows?  Matia's suggestion of olive oil and goldenseal does't seem to be helping.

Also, any clues as to what causes this?  I haven't experienced rashed before and everytime I look at my arms I want to cry, since I feel like this means I am taking a step back. I also have dry patches around my left eye?  Could these be related?

While I haven't had this, I had severe skin issues for a while and just want to say don't despair and don't freak out!  It will get better in time.  Your skin is one of the major eliminative organs, and eczema patches/itching/tons of other skin issues are so normal in this process.  And for some people, die-off comes out more in skin than other places (lucky us!).  Please don't feel like you're going backward b/c in actuality this is a "good" sign! It means your body is detoxing from everything that led to illness.  If you haven't already, read some books on holisitc/Chinese medicine, healing crisis, and die-off.  With every crazy thing that happens during treatment, and there are many, it's helpful to remind yourself "It's only temporary, this too shall pass."

It is very helpful to know people other people have gone through similar isssues.  This forum is such a lifesaver.  Without it, I would feel isolated in this disease and process.  My family's response is to "just put cortisone cream on it."  I know they mean well, and are just trying to offer some relief, but it's hard to constantly try to explain why OTC solutions could actually hurt me more than help me.
Any reading recommendations?

I haven't read many myself so I can't say, you might want to open this question up in a separate post?  The two I hear of often are:

If it keeps continuing I recommend you let Matia know, and she can adjust your doses or might suggest another oil. I think it depends on the severity of the situation; it might be detox and you might have it for couple of days even more. I had a crazy skin rash for about 3 weeks or so last summer. I was so scared as my skin was had big big swollen red dots. It was soooo itchy, my legs were swollen. Oh my God, I never had sth like that before and it was way more disturbing at nights. I wasn't able to sleep due the itchiness. After a while, it started to bleed  (since I was scratching) and got more painful. First week, it was around all over my legs and arms, then started to spread to my face, belly, ears. My hands were constanly all around my body and I literally could not stop stracthing myself, my friends/parents had to stop me :) I thought it could be chicken pox, but it wasn't, or allergy . In the meantime, I had a bad flu, constantly bloated, sweating a lot. Everything seemed to be a huge detox to me or could be weather change as I was traveling, may be both. Matia told me to stop every supplements I have been taking for 3 days or so and I used jojoba oil&aloe vera on my skin 2&3 times a day.  I must say it took a month to fully get rid of it. I don't realy want to have it again really. If you think it is very disturbing , I would recommend you talk to Matia, and she can change your doses. Also, I tried so hard not to use antihistamines (I used them a lot in the past and really dont wanna use it ever again, and Matia didn't want me to use either) but I ended up using for a few days due to crazy painful itchyness. I was indeed angry with myself as I might had stopped the detox by taking antihistamines. Who knows what was actually happening!
Ooh, you shall drink lots of water btw.

may be that was all the alcohol in our bodies which created the rash:-)

This has been going on for about three weeks now with no signs of abating.  I let Matia know about a week after it staretd and she switched me from Rehmanniae Peoria to Siberian Ginseng, which I don't think has affected me much.

I reached out to her again about a week ago, which is when she recommended the goldenseal and olive oil.  The goldenseal just makes it BURN. I am speaking with her tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have some recourse then.

Fingers crossed this gets better before short sleeve weather is here.

awful rashes and horrible itching all over my arms and legs from the beginning of treatment, for almost a year! I tried everything to put on it, and yes nothing really helped, just burned till I felt like my whole body was on FIRE! Over a couple of months, it just started to get better, and now I do not have the itching all over. I have cuts and scares all over though. My advice for itching is to not even wash your skin unless you have to, just use water when you can. And use olive oil as a moisturizer. This helped a little.
Now I have had for the last 2 months a very crusty RED rash on both sides of my skin! Ugh... it is SO gross looking. There is no way to even cover it. I am trying to hang in there, and just let my body get rid of what it needs to. But it is so hard when it is on your face. It has spread to underneath my nose the last few weeks, and I am just hoping it doesn't go all over!
Defiantly I think keeping Matia informed is good, but honestly, if your body needs to get stuff out, it will just need to COME OUT. I've come to the conclusion i need to just let it, and be patient. It can take a long time. Keeping me humble for sure!
