Forums:
Hey all, was thinking it might be a good, positive thing to have a thread listing our original symptoms and how they've changed since being in treatment. I find it helps sometimes to make a list, to remind myself of how much better I'm doing (it's so hard to be objective about your own body).
So I'll go first:
ORIGINAL SYMPTOMS
Constant urgency
Frequency
Up 3/4 times through the night
Pain in my bladder
Feeling when I woke up like someone had blown air into my bladder
Buzzing electrical feeling at the entrance of my vagina
Urethral burning
Feeling after peeing as if I still had a bit of pee trapped in my urethra
Pain/itching/tingling all over vulva
Diarrhoea
SYMPTOMS THAT'VE GONE
Frequency (I go 3/4 times a day)
Urgency, practically (occasionally have a very slight background sense of urge, but can barely detect it)
Rarely up in the night
Bladder pain
Electrical feeling
Trapped-pee feeling
Air-in-bladder feeling
Diarrhoea MUCH better (only once in last month!)
WHAT'S LEFT/WHAT'S NEW
itching/burning/buzzing over vulva (this has got a lot better over last couple of months)
Sore spots on wall of vagina
Feeling of having thrush, on and off
pain/itching over cervix
general sensation (am SO over feeling things down there!)
spots!!
Hair loss
Writing it down like that, it looks pretty good! What about you?
I started with urgency,
I started with urgency, frequency, burning feeling in bladder, heavyness in the bladder and lower back pain. Anxiety, insomnia, tingling and numbness in my foot and leg. Hair loss. Now all I have is either an awareness that I have a bladder or an annoying feeling in the bladder like I have to pee. Sometimes I still get a lower back ache but everything else is gone.
Hey all, these are some fab
Hey all, these are some fab improvements, and I hope really encouraging for any new folks stumbling on the site. I think Nadia is v right about the pressure of the timeline, but I can say something about the order - in my case, the frequency went first, then the buzzing electrical feeling in entrance to vagina (it kind of shrank to one spot on the wall and then went) then urgency slowly faded (that was the most upsetting symptom for me). Then the bladder pain/sensation went. Diarrhoea has ebbed away over the last month and a half. And the most persistent symptom for me has been all the external irritation/soreness.
I meant to say one symptom I still very much have is ANXIETY! Working on that one though ;)
I know Nadia :)))).... is
I know Nadia :)))).... is just your progress sounds amazing and I get scared about time lenght by comparison...I know that´s a mistake though.... you are absolutely right, we are all different...!
Thanks Sarah for clarifying the evolution. :)
I´m making great progress too, but I hope to post soon with definitive improvements, at the moment mines are fluctuating like crazy, but I´m having lots of good days which is amazing.
Lots of love!!! ur cat is lovely Nad!
Original symptoms: Swelled
Original symptoms: Swelled clitoris and what I thought was a UTI. After five day of antibiotics, a small itch on the left side of my clitoris and a deep tisssue itch on my labia below. The clitoral sensitiviy caused me to feel urinary frequency. This was followed by panic attacks about a month later after taking a few pills of another antibiotic and a small pain in the left side of my groin area. Progressed to more pressure and throbbing in clitoris. Then experienced shooting pains in my rectum and vagina. When the pressure was at its worst in my clitoris, I felt something snap or pop inside of me. It felt like it released some of the pressure. Lots of clear discharge. Diagnosed with gardernella infection. Had vagina spasms, or pelvic floor dysfunction. Finally realized that was tied to food. Other weird symptoms - in the beginning, temporary hearing loss in one ear; weird itching in nose, eyes; pain in ear canals; a few sores in mouth and tiny bumps on lip, but tested negative for everything.
Right now - Little pain. Symptoms seem to be mainly around vaginal and clitoris area. I'm still experiencing itching and frequency, primarly when I eat things like cabbage and greens. Anxiety is under control at the moment, but was causing more irritation and problems. Took two Elavil a few weeks ago and it reset my brain for the moment reducing symptoms.
Scared that it is an antibiotic resistant infection that no one can find, but not sure why it can't be found if that is true.
I also have more problems
I also have more problems during my period, like bladder (or uterus?) spasms. But they tend to go away after a few days.
