First appointment and flight advice?

Hello everyone,

After months of waiting, I finally have my first appointment with Dr. Brizman a week from today! To say I'm looking forward to it would be a major understatement. Does anyone have any advice on what I should bring/do/ask? I've tried to put together a comprehensive medical history and also have some of my recent doctors' notes and diagnoses.  I was also planning on bringing samples of the naturopathic medication I'm currently on. I'm trying to write down my questions as I think of them, but I know I need to make the most of my time with her and don't want to leave anything out.

Any other suggestions on what might be helpful for me to prepare?

Also, can anyone advise on the protocol for bringing my own food on international flights (I'm coming from Canada)? Will they let me bring food in my carry on, or will I be stopped by Customs?

Thanks so much for your help!

Lauren

I don't know the answers to yr Qs, I'm sure someone will answer and, if not, email me and I will contact the office to find out. Matia posted this last year about a special rate for Holiday Inn:

"hotel IN California, RIGHT around the corner-almost-from our office that we often will refer our out of town patients to has extended ICAMA patients a special rate of $99.00 per night. Tell them you are one of BOMAMED/ICAMA patients. Their normal rate is $189.00 per night.

Hi Lauren! So glad you're almost ready to go. great!

The one thing i wish I had asked more about was emailing. I still after 7 mos never feel sure about when I should or not. If I get really bad of course I know to email but sometimes it is subtle and I am just not sure if she would like to change the dose or if I need to work through it.

I was so thrilled to be therre and had been in a godd spell I think I didn't ask enough about possible negative stuff- ups and downs etc. I am too much of an optimist sometimes!

Best of luck!

HI, the price quoted for the Hoilday InnWEST LA is their off peak rate, it is much dearer if you travel in summer I made this mistake, if you get a room in the front the hotel is very very noisy. However, they will move you to a quieter room at the back if you ask.  You can walk to Matias office from there just head down Santa Monica bld (towards the beach) till you come to Barrington Ave turn left and after about a five minute walk your there. Don't worry about taking you own food there is a good supermarket just up from Matia's office and there is a whole foods at Santa Monica. The blue bus can take you down to Santa Monica goes all the time and you can take it from opposite the hotel.  Don't worry about taking a cab from the airport they are expensive. They have buses that go to all the hotels for about 16 bucks by memory, they are all outside the airport waiting don't worry just ask. A great place to eat is Real Food Daily its on Santa Moncia Bld down by the beach, big plate of steamed veges and brown rice about 10 bucks. I travelled from Australia last year, I enjoyed my time in Santa Monica the people are helpful and friendly, don't worry  to much about what to say and ask  Maita will guide you through she knows what to ask to get a assessment of your situation, good luck, it was worth for me I feeling much better, enjoy it as well see some sights, a bus can pick you up from the hotel and take you about cheers delie
