I just ordered this from Bomamed which Dr. B advised it will help settle the vaginal inflamation. Anyone currently on it? Any tips? I searched on this site and heard from prior patients that it tastes yummy. But I'm always afraid if I will flare up when I try a new herb.

Rehmanniae Peonniae is the first thing Dr. B put me on in addition to the probiotics. It has been the consistent foundation of my treatment since I started. She has only recently started adding other things for me and I'm going on 10 months in. I found that it has helped calm my itchy, flaky skin and is not irritating to my bladder at all. She has described it as tonifying and is supposed to help our tissues retain moisture better. One of my problems is not matter how much water I drink, I still feel like I'm dried out and if I overdo it with excercise, my bladder freaks out. Dr. B says it's because my body doesn't hold water in it's cells at the moment, but the RP should help. I hope you have a good experience with it!

I, too, have a problem with
I, too, have a problem with feeling 'dried out' no matter how much water I drink, and am taking RP. I think that it is helping little by little. Does anyone have a symptom of 'jolts' and shudders when they are asleep/trying to get off to sleep? Does anyone know what this might be related to?

Wow, had no idea it helps this too! I have terrible scalp/neck psiorriasis and now its starting to scab so I'm hopeful that this will even help that part. I'm constantly itchy even in my sleep. My hair is so dry as well. All of which I have mentioned to Dr. B since the beginning so now I'm wondering how come I didnt start this herb earlier? I have seen a difference being on cod liver oil (nails) but not the scalp. So now I'm actually looking forward to taking it.
Claire - Have you noticed an improvement being on this herb? How long does it take until you see/feel improvement? Thanks for your insight, so helpful.

I have the same scalp issue as you. It's really bothersome to me and was actually a problem before IC started. I haven't noticed much of a change in my scalp since starting treatment BUT when I went out and saw Matia in person, my forearms were also covered in the same itchy, red, scaly skin as my head. She looked at my arms and said that the RP should help with this a lot and in a WEEK it was gone. Miracle. Unfortunately, now that it's winter and I live in Maine in very dry conditions, my arms are showing signs of scaliness again, but much better than a year ago.

RP actually flares my bladder. Matia has tried it many times with me, and it always seems to make my bladder feel worse.

my start off treatment was with rp, but after 2 months, dr. b said don't take it anymore. currently, i'm only on probiotics and siberian roots. as for changes, i no longer have urgency and bunny droppings....don't know if it's from rp or maybe it could be. personally, i couldn't taste rp because it's in capsules, but the scent was nice like coffee.
i understand you being a bit afraid of trying this new herb...i would, too.
I have been
on RP since starting with Dr. B in November. It has really helped me, and I hope it does you, too, Adriane. I felt a difference in my bladder on my first dosage. It was wondeful. The only thing I have is hot flashes, but I am the age for menopause. :) My mom told me to embrace the hot flashes, so I am trying to do that. Even at 2 am.

I'd really like to try RP although I can only find it as rehmanniae glutinosa or under its chinese name. Has anyone ever bought it somewhere other than from Matia? And what dosage/measure?

I've been taking this without opening the capsules, which I believe is correct. are you ladies opening the caps? reason I ask is because someone stated it tastes sweet... Let me know please. just placed my 2nd order.
