Hi all

It is possible that when I increased my 2.5 % Bezoyl Peroxide about 10 days to 2 weeks ago, my bladder did not like it. (Dr. B has approved for me since beginning of treatment, but then I increased it a bit?) We don't know if my flare it is the BPO or die off or a bladder infection. I am taking myself off of BPO for a few days and may try to re-introduce at a lower amount. It is one of the only things that has ever worked on the acne I have had since age 15.

Wondering what those of you will acne have finally settled on in treatment with Dr. B? Did she allow tea tree oil (I think that is too strong maybe?) or anything else?? I will continue jojoba oil as that controls my oil very well and breaks up the plugs. I don't know what else I will do. Sigh. Thanks for input...

Mimi, I hope this will be the solution and help bring your pain levels back down! So frustrating to figure all this out, but am sure will smooth out soon! I haven't found much to help with my acne and Dr. B really hasn't suggested much, I've just come to terms that until all this junk is out of my system I will just have to learn to live with my acne! Boo! Hopefully a lower dose will go better and will still help with your acne! Hang in there and keep us posted!

I use a gel on my face that contains tea tree oil and aloe vera gel as its main ingredients, its quite diluted though (it's not like putting straight tea tree oil on your face). I don't feel like I react at all to it, however I guess everyone is different and some might be more sensitive than others. I still get acne while using it but definitely less and its less severe. Acne is no fun :( such an added stress on top of all the bladder stuff. Sorry to hear you are suffering! Also, did you get yourself tested for bladder infection? Even if its negative, it might make you relax a bit .. worrying about a possible infection is the worst!

Thanks all. Megan I just sent you an email to ask about what specifically you are using as I may have to try other things if not tolerating BPO. It is odd as I was tolerating it well, but then foolishly was trying the acne.org protocol which requires you to use mild version, but more of it! UUUUUUGH! I don't care what it is. Just want to figure it out.

Wish I had a helpful answer :( All I can say is that tea tree oil is way too strong for me... before I started treatment I was using it every night mixed with red clay for spot treatment. It worked really well but after a while my skin developed a sensitivity to it.

I have had acne since the age of 15 and through my entire adult life, now  in treatment for about 13 months and my skin is  recently starting to clear up. Only a tiny spot now and then. I am using jojoba oil at night and bomasense lotion during the day. Never thought that this could be possible.
