I have had this feeling in my feet and lower legs. It come and goes. I'm nine months into treatment and I guess this started happening to me about four months ago. I can't really see any puffiness just a feeling of tightness.
hey all. has anyone else had
hey all. has anyone else had one of their groin areas feel swollen? for sometime now my left side groin is sore and feels swollen. would love some comfort in knowing someone else has had this:)
swollen
Torey,Yes. I have indeed felt the swollen groin! There are lots of lympth nodes in your groin area and most likely there is swelling probably from all that lympth draining! It is definately normal to have this. I had a little bit of swelling in my groin yesterday in fact but it has drained and gone down today. write it down in your notes for Matia! Keep up the good work Torey and thanks for the articles you posted from mercola's natural health site. I am watching a cool documentary called Beautiful Truth about cancer and how supressed Gerson's therapy is- its a cancer cure! peace.Mary
About the swollen groin thing
When you say "swollen groin" do you mean vaginal tissues that feel swollen/inflamed/sensitive? If so, I have this too. At this point it's sometimes more prominent than the bladder pain! I get sensations of burning and throbbing, sometimes little to mildly painful yet very strong energetically, and other times it's quite intense.
Is this anything like what you all are talking about/experiencing?
And how does sex affect this for you?
Mary - checked out the Gerson/Beautiful Truth thing quickly -- thanks for sharing, looks quite interesting.
lisa,
yea i get that too, but my actuall area where my groin is feels inflamed. im sure its all related somehow. ive been experiencing my legs and arms falling asleep and tingling and being numb. when i wake up in the mornings i feel it the most. anyone else?
I get the tingling and numbness also!!
Torey, i can totally relate to the feeling in arms and legs...i feel it almost all the time...it's driving me crazy. For me, it affects my ability to walk too...I get so much pain and tingling that I can hardly get out of bed. I am finally going to see Matia next month...really hoping she will be able to help mw with all of my bizarre symptoms! Hope you're feeling good today!! Debby
I've been experiencing
I've been experiencing groin/vaginal tissue inflammation, like a pulsing feeling?! Also, has anyone had an annoying dry cough and tickly throat? I can't figure out if it's allergies or yeast die off?
OK, tonight I ate Gluten free flat bread (not very good-used brown rice flour) brushed with olive oil, basil, garlic powder and salt. I had it with grilled chicken, cauliflower and squash/zucchini? I thought I did everything right and I'm having burning. It seems like the burning is always worse in the evening. Is zucchini the likely culprit here? It's my favorite vegetable so I hope not!

Samantha, it could be
Samantha,
it could be anything really. How long have you been on the diet? A few sugestions. For me I can tolerate fresh garlic in small amounts. I am talking two slivers, but not the dried powder for some reason this burns me. I can tollerate this one bread that is millet and brown rice flower but when i make rice flower bread myself I flair up. I don't know if it is the source or the way they process it or what but you might try different brands. THe zucchini some people need to scoop the seeds out you might try doing this. I can't do chicken it makes me burn I know a lot of people can't at first. Just cause it's on the list doesn't mean you can tolerate it.IF your very new to the diet you might try keeping it more simple till you figure it out. Like try out your protiens with just boston lettuce because it's a more mild one. I know some can't even have the olive oilI would keep your plates simple one type of veggie no spices till you figure out what you can have more then move on from there. ADd the spices in after you know that the veggies and meats are ok.
Wow, I thought the diet so
Wow, I thought the diet so far was simple enough....I'm a foodie and I'm miserable eating this way. It all pays off when I feel good, but when I burn after eating this simply, I feel like...what was the point? I might as well have made something yummy I would enjoy. I know it's all the big picture and stuff, but it's frustrating. I've been doing the diet for a week only, but I'm starting from a point where I've felt 90% healed after a year of medications, so I had hoped I might be able to deal with a little more. I guess not...if it's the chicken, I can't really imagine what else I would eat. I'm GF, DF and not a red meat eater. It doesn't leave much choice. Interesting about the fresh garlic vs. powder. I wondered why powdered is suggested over fresh. I also eat millet bread and like it very much, but it's only tolerable toasted. I wonder if the homemade rice bread affected me like you said it did you. Thanks so much for your input, I'll try your tips!
In the beginning I had a hard
In the beginning I had a hard time with any garlic either powdered or fresh. We couldn't figure out what was bothering me and went over foods with Matia and she told me to cut out garlic. This was the trick. I agree with Nicole it could be anything so keep it simpler in the beginning. It will get better. I am now able to have a little garlic powder again with no problem.
The diet
Don't get discoraged by the diet being so simple already. It's just that you have to try things out one by one. For me persoanlly I have to eat red meat and Matia will want you to eat it I have to say. You might try some game. I eat ostridge and it is very tasty low fat low colestorol and high in protien. It's important to take it day by day so you try the chicken with a simple salad lets say then you find out that is ok. next time have it with the oilve oil or go to a veggie but keep the chicken in. Keep going like that adding things in slowly. Pay attention to where your buning is at before you eat vs where it is at after you eat. Really taste your food and become one with it so that it becomes a joyful experience as much as possible. Think about how it is going to heal you and put that positive energy into it. This is worth it in the end to have all this sacerfice and really it's not forever so try not to focus on what you can't have but what you can have.
When i started the diet there were lots of things i said i didn't eat or like. Now I am eating them and i like them your taste might be changing if your body knows it's healing you. Also as you add things in you will learn how to become creative with your food.
I have to tost my bread too but personally I like it that way. I have used the toast to make bread crumbs too.
Thanks for the
Thanks for the encouragement. I enjoy cooking and can be very creative, so I'll try to make it interesting. I have a vacation week coming up soon with family and every night is always a big eating fest with lots of yummy food I won't be able to eat. We also eat out a lot when I'm there and I'm really worried I will either starve all week or be forced to cheat! It's really not so bad when I'm home alone and just cooking for me. I don't know how you all with kids and families do it! We also take hikes and I'm wondering what I will snack on since I can't have fruit, nuts or granola bars? Any advice? Which reminds me, what the heck do you all snack on? The rice cakes with nothing on them just aren't cutting it.
I know there are some spices that are absolute no-nos with regard to IC, but what are people's general feelings on cilantro or rosemary? I just grew some before I started the diet and it's sad to not use it. Also, why dried vs fresh herbs?
Cheers!
thanks for easing my mind
thanks for easing my mind mary!:)
Groin pain
My pelvic pain has subsided but as soon as it did I started feeling groin pain in my left side that feels like constipation sometimes and like my bladder is full sometimes. I have felt it for about 15 days now.
