ll I just got put on list 2 after being on list 3 for 2.5 months with symtoms worsening since 4/22. Lessons learned, I wasn't really doing List 3 in a strict way. I was eating all nuts and cheeses and that was not what the protocol says that you are supposed to do; Also, that as much as I hate retiring my fruit, nuts and cheese for the moment, I can handle this now better than I would have at the beginning which might have meant that I never would have done the diet at all.; Also, that I am impatient and I want my bladder symptoms to die down instantly but that probably isn't realistic.
If anyone wants to hazard a guess they can and I will keep you all posted.
I hope it is going to work because it is my last house on the block. I don't see any alternative to doing the protocol. I have gone the western route already.
Of course I am humbled and also terrified that it isn't going to work. But (knock on wood) my bladder does feel somewhat better than yesterday.
Finally, we need to figure out a way to make the protocol instructions and the veggies list more complete. For example, where do radishes or celery root fit?

Bonnie- it sounds like you have the right attitude about the diet. I am sorry you are backtracking- it is a bummer but keep up the good work. SOmetimes the diet can be a matter of "spirit of the law" vs "letter of the law" if you know waht I mean? I needed to move up to some things from 3 because I felt like I was getting so annoyed, I was eating to many rice cakes and not enough protein I think. It can be easy to go down that road when you are frustrated or busy (and who isn't?)
Anyway- keep the faith!! You are going to get better.
