Hi all,

Just wondering who has ever tried chiropractic before or during your treatment and did it help with any symptoms?

My mom and I both go.  My mom thinks it helps her, but it only marginally helps me.  I can't really tell--although sometimes I think it does help with the frequency? My mom's had IC since the 80s, and she used chiropractics for 20 years and managed to be symptom free.  However, she see Matia now in conjunction.  So, I guess like everything it depends on the person.

not been to one since being in treatment (13 months). But I have been tempted to. I really wanted to do NAET treatments a month ago... but I asked Matia and she said she strongly advised against it : / Still want to try it. Maybe someday. I have heard it helping a lot of people with IC, because it brings inflammation down. It has helped members in my family with certain things a lot.

Why does Matia advise against NAET? I really want to do this as well and was hoping I could in a few months.

She just told me that it would cause another variable for her to deal with, and for me to deal with. She said she has even seen people getting IC after NAET. I do not think she thinks it a bad treatment, I just think she thinks it not good for those with IC. I am still very curious and wish I could try it. It was hard to ask her what she thought, because I had been getting my hopes up. But who knows, she might say something different for someone else who wanted to try it.

Wow,thanks for that, very interesting. I will ask her when I see her in May and see what she says. I find it all so confusing as I loved the NAET session I did have and my bladder felt so good after it as well.
Interestingly, I saw where someone said that Matia doesnt encourage people to get laser treatment - I had extensive laser treatment on my legs and arms about three years ago and I only realised that my bladder became overactive shortly after it. I never assumed any connection until I read this, so I will definitely ask Matia about this as well.

Hi flygirl,
I have been seeing a chiropracter since January 2011. I started treatment with Matia in August 2009.
I haven't actually mentioned it to Matia. I'm not trying to be dishonest, but I'm in a fairly desperate situation and really needed to give this a go.

I have moderate scoliosis, and I'm currently having severe nerve issues with total limb numbness. One of my biggest issues is that I have developed carpal tunnel symptoms, and if I don't get them under control I could lose my job.
No job, no Matia treatment. So far chiro has been the only thing to make a (marginal) difference for my carpal tunnel symptoms, and so I keep going. I haven't noticed negative effects on my bladder.

Hope this helps,
Erin

has said over and over, to tell her before doing any other treatment. I had heard this so many times, and how important it was. But I am still frusterated that she said no to me, and I think she says no to a lot of people. Because I have this nagging feeling that it might help me a lot. Ugh!
Pinklady, I am glad to hear you have found something that would help with your situation. I totally understand why you would go ahead and do it. I hope it continues to really help you.

I have been going to the chiropractor for 1 1/2 years and I do not find it directly helps my IC.
