cold sores anyone?

One of my favorite IC companions (ha!) is the frequent cold sores that I now get.  I had a couple in 2002 but now I have the good fortune of getting them about every other month.  They try to come on more frequently than that but I put liquid goldenseal on them and it seems to qwell them if I get to it early enough.

I also was getting these interior mouth sores especially after eating potatoes or nut butter (not eating either of those anymore, sadly).  Those would come and go quickly and I think are quite common for ICers. I don't think they were the same thing.

Does anyone else have the pleasure of getting these on a regular basis and if so had Matia said anything about them being a good sign or a bad sign.  I just wonder if it means my body is overloaded or if it means it's clearing things out.

Hi Claire, I have not had the pleasure of these ,yet?.. I say yet, because I wake up each morning wondering if there will be a new physical "strangeness" taking place in me each day;) If it is the herpes virus that is causing those, I would think that it would mean a shift in your immune system, but if it is a "cleansing or detox" then I would think it is a good sign... at least I hope so... for all of our sakes!..lol Does your bladder feel differently when you have them? I have noticed that sometimes when my body is exhibiting another symptom....my bladder calms down. I hope that is the case and you are not getting lovely cold sores... AND a bladder flare!
It does sounds though as if you have made incredible progress this year! That makes me smile;)

Last month I got one massive cold sore in my lower lip and it lasted for 2 weeks. It was gigantic... I was amazed that the goldenseal worked so well though, I always had to use Zovirax and I didn't know could stop the pain so quickly naturally. I think I was going through a detox period rather than the inmmune system getting weak, I hope! The only thing is the goldenseal is quite bright yellow and it seams you've been eating curry, not very nice picture.

I very often get cankor sores, or ulcers, in my mouth when on some of these cleanses.  They don't usually stick around for long.  Goldenseal helps get rid of them, and so does salt water rinse.  I have never gotten cold sores on my lips though.
