Combining food

Hi all,

I have only been in treatment four weeks, but have been allowed to start on list 3 (without nuts and fruit) (i had already cut out sugar / yeast / added probiotics etc for over a year, so i had made a lot of progress already. But felt i needed Dr. B's help to get all the way there, as still had flares etc.)

Soon I'll be able to add berries. I was just wondering about when to eat fruit and in combination with what. Is it true that it isn't good to eat fruit on an empty stomach? Is it possible to have yogurt and berries as a snack, let's say in between lunch and dinner?

I know that meals are a combination of protein, veg, carbs. But what about snacks? I need to eat more often than three times a day...

Oh and final question, is bone broth the same as stock? I have my own chickens and rear them organically, so when i boil a chicken i used to use the stock for soup.

Thanks!

C

Bone broth isthe same as stock but I was wondering if it would be ok to eat broth that was made from a chicken that wasn't simmered too long. I am going to ask her.
Snacks should not be just carbs but for me she said i could have just protein. I've gained back weight and have good energy so i thinnk that makes a difference. if you are supper skinny- you probably need the carbs with protein but not alone. Fruit should be after a meal. I do have a few blueberries with yogurt as a snack every now and then not sure if i should

Hi C,
That's great that you can start the list at 3, that's fantastic. Last time I asked Matia about the chicken stock, she said it may bother the bladder. She suggested making a soup without the bones instead. However, when i get sick, that's the only thing i feel like helping me heal foodwise, so she said ok to me as long as it doesn't bother me in moderation.
