I want to apologize ahead of time as this is not a pretty subject, i am so grossed out myself as i never had such nasty skin problem before. About a few weeks ago, i had itching on my left toe, and what seemed to be little bumps like insect bites. After a few days, my husband said it looked like fungus of some sort. I didnt want to believe at the time, but it's been progressively getting uglier and worse. To my surprise it hasnt jumped to other toes, but my toe is all wrinkled up like a raisin, with whitish infectios looking itchy bumps appearing, then turning into red dots, or peeling skin. Matia said to treat it within, and to try grapeseed extract. It hasnt worked, so today i asked her about using vinegar, she said not to as it will harm systematically. I trust her very much, but the i am also pretty uneasy about this spreading and becoming worse. Has any of you had similar problem? If so, how long did it take get better?
Unfortunately, I have the
Unfortunately, I have the nasty foot fungus too!:( I have been dealing with this for the past 13 years. It only affects my right foot and varies week to week how bad it itches and affects all my toes and even the bottom of my foot. It is not contagious. My husband has never got it from me. It due to our leaky gut and weakened immune system. Matia assures me that this will get better as my gut heals. Sorry you are dealing with this. I hardly ever wear any shoes that show my toes, because it is rather gross and embarrassing! Hope it improves for you!
I am so sorry to hear that
I am so sorry to hear that you are dealing with this problem for a long time :( I feel for you, this is really really bothersome. It's itchy, painful, and so freaking ugly. After a few weeks with it, I can't wait this to be over already or exchange it with another weird symptom :) I mean my toe looks like the nose of a witch. I've been so embarrassed from my feet, especially that's one thing my husband pays attention (he is a foot/shoes type guy) , and i've been hiding my feet from him with socks etc. I thought there might be a solution Matia could suggest, when she sees how bad it looks, but now sounds like we'll have to take the long road with this as well. I just wonder why now? Just to add to my list of why's :), aren't we suppose to be better shape now than before? I wish i could say it's die off, or some way of nasties coming out than to think i still have a weakened immune system :(
I have had foot fungus for 20 years!
On 3 toes on my left foot. Sometimes my skin itches and I used to clear that with a fungus cream but not now. Now I just have the toe fungus. I took pictures of it when I started treatment so that I can look at it every four months and hopefully see progress :) I have been covering it with polish but not now. I have read on the candida boards that people's toe fungus clears up completey on the no sugar diet.
Now I move my CUTE ballet flats and boots to the front of my closet! Treat yourself to some cute, embellished flats. Your feet deserve it!. And of course, give them lots of air, going barefoot and sock-free at home whenever possible.
((Hugs))

Hi Mimij67, thank you for
Hi Mimij67, thank you for your suggestions :) I've been afraid to wear my nice shoes, especially without socks, worrying i may pass the infection back and forth. If it's just coming from within, and not contagious like cprince said, I guess it's safe to. I mean so far it's only on that toe. I really hope you can start seeing improvements soon with the diet. It brings another question to my mind to ask Matia, that if snacking on cashew butter with rice cake, too sweet a snack? Maybe I need to cut down on them a bit.
Yep, that sounds about right!
Yep, that sounds about right! I too used to douse my foot in antifungal creams with a few days of relief than back it would come. Wish I would have known about Dr. B well before now. I probably wouldn't be having such a hard time healing my gut, if I had. I agree find your self some cute shoes that cover your toes! I wear them without socks. I guess I can't say for sure if I am preventing it from clearing up quicker, but my line of work I have to wear closed toed shoes with socks. On the days I don't work I try to leave my feet to open air, and bear the comments my husband makes about on my gross foot!:P Oh well, it is what it is, and just patiently waiting for my body to heal from the inside out. I am thinking, sadly this will be the last to go! Hopefully, in your case it is more related to die off, we are all so different. Hope it goes away quickly for you!
The athlete's foot/fungus
The athlete's foot/fungus type issue with my foot, which now started to appear on my hands in single little bumbs or in cluster of bumbs. They don't swell like my foot, or retain water, but tiny tiny bumps and very itchy. Now I am really worried if it passes to other parts of my body, especially eyes ( I wear contacts) and sensitive parts. I am going to see Matia this week. I really hope she can help. It seems contagiuos, as my husband has been dealing with athletes foot on/off recently as well. Last night, I soaked my feet in a warm water with a lot of (table) salt, hoping salt water may kill off some nasties. but woke up with painful pee, a mild flare, not sure if it's the salt soak. Yuycks, now i am itchy and hurting. :(
Sorry you are having such
Sorry you are having such issues with the fungus spreading! Sounds awful! Some of my yeast I have given to my husband, but he has never complained of getting athletes foot from me for whatever reason! Would be interesting to hear what Dr B says. I wonder if it is more contagious when yeast is in certain areas, or acute stages versus chronic? I recently went on a vacation where I was in salt water most of the day. I had more itching wherever I have yeast, but didn't know if just from the constant moisture and humidity and bladder also hurt more, but thought could have been more food related/being in a different environment, etc. I am not sure about regular table salt, maybe sea salt would be better? Or maybe salt is too drying making the itching worse? All good questions for Dr. B! Good luck! Keep us posted!
So not fun!!
