Hope noone minds such a technical question - has Matia ever told people what a normal bladder should feel like, for us, when we are recovered? When I started on my own treatment, I had burning, irritation, inflamed feeling etc. Over the three and half months, this has slowly changed to just a pressure, one that increases when die off is going on and subsides when it is not. At all times, I can feel urine in my bladder as if the lining is very sensitive. But then again, for as long as I can remember, I could always feel my urine, just that with IC, my bladder feels more sensitive. I can hold my urine now for hours and I dont get up to pee any more, not for ages now. If this was recovery for me, it would be fine, I suppose I would love to have a stronger bladder at the end, if that makes any sense? Or does recovery mean being able to eat a very varied diet with a good enough bladder as obviously right now, my diet is still limited, on list 2 but am careful about what foods I add in.
From what I've read, (she
From what I've read, (she posted something on the success stories page), that when you are done with treatment you should be able to eat most any food but you should not go back to your old ways. You should strive for a healthy diet so symptoms do not return. As far as how the bladder should feel, I would think it would feel like nothing, that you don't even notice you have one until it's full and you need to use the bathroom.
Yes, I agree with Christine,
Yes, I agree with Christine, u should not need to think about your bladder unless its full and needs emptying - the normal state of affairs. And u should eat healthily. I remember Matia has said avoid mushrooms, soya and sushi. She also says that when ur recovered u should not drink alcohol or eat refined sugar - for your general health - except on the very odd occasion. I would ask her if there is anything u may have to avoid which maybe ur sensitive to, otherwise basically, after recovery: List 5
Proteins: all proteins.
Vegetables: all vegetables, please limit soy.
Fats: All fats, try to focus on extra virgin olive oil as a way of maintaining good fats in your diet always.
Starch: all starches.
Fruits: all fruit.
Spices: all spices, except added sugar. This should always be avoided as much as possible. If it is in a recipe at a regular meal it is fine, but avoid adding to food or having as a food itself such as cakes, cookies, etc… healthy fruit sweetening substitutes may be implemented. There are numerous kinds of healthy alternatives already prepared with fruit as cakes, pies, cookies, bars, etc…
Drinks: all non-sugar non-alcohol drinks.
