Forums:
Hi everyone,
I haven't been on the forum for a long time. I think I've felt so dragged down by my health that I haven't wanted to drag anyone else down with me.
I've been in treatment with Dr. B for a year and half. I've seen some good improvements with my bladder (although some days I feel like I'm back to square one, and wonder if the improvements are just in my head)
But along the way I've had other issues. Many many other issues. Then a number weeks ago I noticed I started sneezing all the time. I live in Canada, and its been a really cold intense winter this year, so I figured I was just fighting off one of the many cold/flu things going around. But now, I'm really starting to doubt that.
I seem to have developed environmental allergies? Maybe to dust? Maybe to my cat? I really don't know. Every morning I have these crazy body-wrenching sneezing fits. My face feels hot, my sinuses feel full, my throat and eyes are scratchy, and my glands are swollen. They continue through the day (although they always seem worse in the morning). Amidst all my other health issues environmental allergies feel like the one thing I didn't have to worry about. But now maybe I do? Could these be die off symptoms? How do I tell the difference between allergies and a cold that just wont come to a head? This seems an odd time of year to start experiencing them... I would have thought summer or spring?
Has anyone else had "environmental allergies" spring out of nowhere? Did they resolve as you progressed through treatment?
Thanks for any insight. Thinking of everyone in their struggles.
Erin
Allergies
Hi Erin
I have only been in treatment a couple of months so cannot comment but wanted to say I feel for you and didn't want to just not post anything.
From an outsider's view it sounds like die off to me, I have experienced die off in the distant past when I was overcoming a different health problem, and had very similar symptoms which lasted about a week. If it's going on for longer could be something else. I'm sure you've discussed it with Matia and she will be able to work with you to ease and hopefully resolve it. I hope it is die off as it means your body is having a really good clear out.
Wishing you well.
Sneezing
Hi Erin,
I had a period of time where I was sneezing - not as intense as you - but I was pretty sure it was die off. It seemed to happen after I took pro-biotics. Yesterday I had an awful sore throat, a sinus headache, and felt like crap - it's gone today. I'm also pretty sure it'll be back again. The thing that I've really hate is the numbness in my head, and the squeezing sensation. I'm the freak that took a vibrator to her head last night and actually hung my head over the edge of the bed - forcing blood into it. For whatever reason, it feels better now.
Since my anxiety levels, at the moment, have thankfully lowered, I'm able to kind of sit back and watch all this weirdness with quite a bit of interest - kind of like cheap entertainment. This morning I was woken to the most bizar charlie horse. I could actually feel the muscle in my lower leg ringing out like a wet dish rag - WEIRD.
OK - I've now made this about myself. How about this - if the sneezins isn't yeast - which I would guess it is -maybe this phase is still part of your healing - maybe a childhood thing that's come back to be corrected? I've had old issues surface, jar me back to times long ago - and then faded away.
Take Care - don't be a stranger. From an offten times complete nut case, I'd rather hear the bad stuff than suffer in silence.
Thanks
Thank you both for your replies. I appreciate you taking the time. I'll cross my fingers that this will pass... And I guess with everything else, allergy type symptoms aren't the biggest thing I (or any of us) are up against. I have a month before my next Matia appointment. Maybe by then I won't even need to ask...
Cheers,
Erin
