hi,

at whole foods today i found organic uncured beef hotdogs that have nothing in them other than beef, water, sea salt and some seasoning like onion, celery, etc. nothing that appears to be "bad." they are not smoked, the cattle are grass fed, and there are no hormones or antibiotics used in them. so i think they are okay to eat, but wanted to see if anyone else has heard otherwise. they are made by applegate farms.

on another note... i have been totally off of grains for the last few weeks, but seem to be okay with potatos. so, went to the store and bought some potato flour to try and make potato bread. i know there had been some talk about this on the board a while back. has anyone tried making it? if so, did it work okay without other flours?

thanks.

You might want to watch out for the seasonings in the hot dogs.  I'm not sure what kind of seasonings they put in them.  If they list all the seasonings and you tolerate those seasonings, then it is probably okay.  If they just say "seasonings," I would be leery.  Sorry I don't know about the potato flour.  I went off grains for about a year and only ate potatoes but didn't experiment with any of the potato flour.  Good luck.

potato bread was a huge flop. had to throw it out. the recipe just didn't work well at all. oh well. thanks for the input on the hot dogs clueless. i have them sitting in my fridge, but haven't had the nerve to try them. they do specify the seasonings (basically celery, onions, garlic), but i'm still too chicken at this point. as far as grains, did you feel a major difference having gone off of them for a year? i just went off them three weeks ago and think there is a mild diffrence, but nothing  super noticeable. are you able to tolerate grains now? i so, so, so hope to be able to get back on them. i really miss them and don't want to lose any more weight. in terms of the potatoes, how many potatoes would you eat a day? just not sure how much to indulge. thanks.
