Hi Everyone,

Has anyone been diagnosed with H Pylori and has been treated by Dr. B?  I’ve been in treatment for almost a year and I have improved greatly.  I’m starting to feel more confident about my bladder and I’m symptom free for longer periods.  This is a miracle.

It's been about 1 week that I'm feeling some upper abdominal discomfort.  Very painful and It's disturbing my sleep.  My stomach is burning and the pain goes up into my throat.  I’ve been emailing Dr. B and she has made some changes to my protocol.  I can’t figure out what is causing this pain except for the fact that my gastroenterologist told me last year that I tested positive for H Pylori.  He wanted to treat me with antibiotics but I refused to take them because I was going to start treatment with Dr. B and my bladder was in too much pain.  Could this be responsible for all of this acid burning in my stomach?  Has anyone experienced this and has been treated successfully?  I’m not sure if this is the direction Dr. B. is taking but she added Goldenseal so I’m thinking she thinks it’s bacterial.  Any feedback would help me immensely.

Hello Sandmor, yes I tested positive for h. pylori and was successfully treated by Dr. B. My stomach still burns and most recently my h. pylori antibodies are slowly creeping up once again. One use have had h. pylori you will always show some antibodies to it, it is just when it starts to grow out of control that needs to be treated. I have chronic burning in stomach, so after discussing this with Dr. B she hasn't been to concerned to attack the bacteria again my case instead attempting to build my gut now with probiotics. The goldenseal is great in most cases for reducing stomach burning and reflux, so this should help with the burning and attack the bacteria as well. You are in good hands. My GI doc also told me now way could my h. pylori be treated with anything but a very long course of several antibiotics. He was so wrong! You don't need western antibiotics to eradicate h. pylori. I totally feel for you and hope the burning and reflux improves for you!

Hi cprince, thanks so much for sharing your experience.  I’m glad to hear she was able to help you.  I’ve never experienced stomach problems so this is all new to me.  It’s such an awful feeling.  I’m hoping she can resolve this quickly!
Thanks again!

sandi I intermittently had short periods of reflux, or cramping in my small intestine after eating and used goldenseal as directed by Dr. Brizman. Sometimes the symptoms resolved quickly and sometimes it took 5 days. Hopefully the sx will pass soone.
I really find it helpful to think in the chinese medicine model about this. Dr. Boaz has reminded me that in the west, they observe a bacteria present in larger than normal numbers, or in the wrong location, etc... and they presume that is what the problem is. The thing is, h. Pylori is not the problem. The problem is that conditions in your body were such that H. Pylori was able to flourish. Drs Brizman are helping to change the underlying environment in your body so that this won't be the case. Most people without stomach sx, or H. Pylori have more balance in there body and their body keeps this all in check. This will be the case for you.
Keep us posted on the prgress with Goldenseal. It will be helpful for others too!!
BTW, no point in explaining this to most western docs. Not their training.

Hi Mimi, I’m so glad you responded to my post.  Dr. B. has removed the goldenseal out of my protocol.  My symptoms did not improve so I guess she’s going in a different direction.  I’m not even sure she was addressing the H. Pylori.  That’s what I presumed bc I can’t explain what else could be causing all this acid burning and discomfort in my stomach.  Can the herbs over time irritate the stomach lining? It’s so hard to understand why and what goes on in our bodies.  I’m in constant need of an explanation or else my mind just takes me to that bad place.  Dr. B. post today came at the right time.  I felt as though that was me she was writing about.  Do you have any suggestions on how to condition the mind not to think so negatively when we are not feeling well?  I would love to hear your thoughts.

(((Hugs))) I too struggle with worrying about various body things. I think the extra worry is part of my imbalance, and also is PTSD for us since we have had a lot of pain in the past! I think affirmations are helpfull. Looking in the mirror and saying outloud that you are healing. Also I use the release method oulined as part of the Sedona Method. I allow myself to feel the feeling first. Welcome it. Then ask if you are capable and willing to let go of that feeling (for now). It works very well. I love the Sedona Method!
For what it is worth, my daughter has "excess Heat" which we are trying to clear (and Boaz has been successful in her protocol thusfar). Her sx was acid reflux and they are treating her small intestine. I am sure Dr. Brizman will find the right combo soon. Sometimes she uses digesta-lac. I hope u get relief soon! Hope u are chewing your food well!

I also have the same symptoms that you describe (acid refux and stomach pain/discomfort that comes and goes for the last 4 months). Very annoying and it also worries me. I don't have h.pylori though, and so even though you do have it doesn't necessarily mean it's causing you the symptoms you're having. I also wonder if this is some sort of detox reaction during treatment or possibly irritation from the herbs .. so hard to know.Hope you improve soon.

Hi Megan,
I’m sorry to hear you’ve been experiencing this awful feeling for 4 months.  How is your treatment progressing?  Today I’m feeling slightly better, so maybe this will all fade away real soon and I can resume my regular protocol.  I’m hoping this is all related to detox and not the herbs irritating my stomach.   I really wish I knew!
Take care,

Hi Mimi,
I am intrigued by your mention of the Sedona Method - I will be sure to check this out right away - any help in pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.  Due to a bunch of different therapies, I too have been learning to let myself feel the feeling - when it's crazy fear it's easier said than done.  I've been trying to ride through it and let it go - maybe welcoming and asking if I could let it go (for now) would be a good thing

Thanks

Hi Denise!
It looks a bit new agey but it is really good stuff. I bought a two hour course from them for 5o dollars and then bought the complete course on Ebay for 1/2 price so you can always look there.

Here is a sample. There are probably lots on the internet

Thank you - I have found that the new agey stuff has helped me far better than anything conventional ever has....kind of like Dr. B vs the conventional western crap

Hey hey,

I was diagnosed with H pylori about a year or two before i realized I had IC. I did do the antibiotics because I didn't realize how deadly they were going to be. The antibiotics were a nightmare. My body was super sensitive to them.
About a year after being treated for H pylori I started having some more stomach and GI issues and was dead sure that I had another infection but tested negative for it. I started developing GERD symptoms, awful reflux, burning esophagus, stomach etc. Pulsing in my stomach and phlegm. It was a nightmare.
Once I started the diet I was MUCH better, and my GERD disappeared about two months into treatment. I realized that garlic powder and potatoes were major culprits for me. Since cutting those two foods out, it's been uphill in the stomach department. I rarely ever get stomach pain or heartburn. I sleep with my bed on a slant and I still avoid those foods. I tried garlic powder again about two weeks ago and it made my bladder burn ever so slightly, but I took that as a major improvement from where I was before, when it caused me to have TERRIBLE stomach pain and GERD symptoms.
EVERYONE has H pylori in their bodies, but like cprince said, it's when the H pylori overpopulates that it becomes a problem. If you can get the population under control you should be fine. Everything Dr. B does is about rebalancing gut bacteria, so even if she is not directly targeted H pylori virtually everything she does is giong to help manage this problem.

Hope this helps. Feel free to email me if you have questions, I don't come onto the forum often. Best,
Hannah
