..."TMEP, a.k.a. telangiectasis macularis eruptiva perstans"?
My aunt is suffering from this autoimmune disorder which I just learned about today.
She isn't terribly open to alternative medicine, but if I could be reasonably sure it could help her (which I am anyway) and had some good information to show her, I think she would pursue it. It's a condition in which the body overproduces mast cells/histamines, and it results in spotted skin and hives. It sounds a little like IC in some ways and I wonder if it's yeast related or some kind of food allergy at the root. I know hives and eczema are almost always dairy/gluten related.
I don't want to bother Matia about it since it doesn't involve me, so hoping someone can offer some insight. I told my aunt that Chinese medicine would be the best place to start but I want to offer her some more concrete information and some healthy alternatives to try. I'm a holisitic nutrition and lifestlye coach and my first reaction would be an elimination diet, but I don't think she'll take it seriously unless I have solid evidence.
There isn't much online about it.
Thanks.
