Could some one give me am idea about the program besides the diet. How often one sees Dr. Brizman in person, does she work over the phone. How the program is determined/specialized for the individual, the diet, how many supps on average one must take. I am looking for insight.
i have tried so many thinks over 16 months and have felt so alone with this for so long, Carey
Hi Carey,
Hi Carey,
Please don't feel hopeless. If you can switch that to gratitude that you've landed in this place, which, if you're like me, you probably found out of sheer luck, you're on your way.
It is my understanding that Dr. Brizman had this condition, herself, years ago. She has dedicated a huge amount of time, effort, and compassion to bring hope and treatment to a condition that, as far as my experience shows, has western docs looking like complete asses. The program that she uses on patients is extremely individualized. I would imagine that it has alot to do with the symptoms that you display. When I'd been stupid enough tot try pot to help my anxiety, despite the fact she told me that it would go horribly wrong, no matter what the natural path and the medical marijuanna license might allow, she had me quckly out of pain by adjusting the herbs that I was on - she didn't even say I told you so.
With that said, I'd like to be really clear about something. For some people, it seems, they heal quickly and go on their way. For others, it's a battle that takes dedication. People ask me how I could possibly have given up sugar, alcohol, and certain foods. In my heart, I truly believe that I had no choice - I'd run out of options.
Carey, you aren't alone - unfortunately, there are a ton of us.
Hanging in there with you
Denise, incredible, my heart
Denise, incredible, my heart melts just reading this. Hope is what I need right now. I have tried so many natural therapies it is incredible...hard to stay consistent but knowing that dr. Bizman understands it personally is huge. So everyone follows the same diet? I wonder why no coconut oil and that grains are ok? Coffee ok on list 2? Surprising...
curious to know more. Will read some of the other posts...
with huge gratititude,
Carey
I could write a book but I
I could write a book but I have 3 kids home for summer!
real quick- Coconut oil is one of the reasons my body tipped the scales into IC. COconut oil is a very strong antifungal as you probably know and it can easily throw an already stressed IC body out of balance. I was eating a lot of it because a dr thought I had a Candida issue. Turns out yeast is NOT one of my major issues and I ate so much, I upset the delicate microbial balance.
Keep doing searches on this forum and many of your questions will be answered.
This treatment can be tough and for me it is really long, but I believe in the idea of rebuilding a damaged hut and allowing the body to basically right itsellef with support from Dr Brizman who understanmds this illness and chronic conditions in general
Carey,
Carey,
If you don't live near Dr. Brizman's office, you only have to see her in person for the first appointment. Then the rest of your appointments can be phone calls. Also, you can communicate through email every morning (except Sunday) in an emergency situation, and there is no fee for emails.
If you would like in depth information on how and why this treatment works, I strongly encourage you to buy Dr. B's dissertation. After I read it, I was so encouraged!
I have had IC for thirteen years. I am now off of all medication and my pain level is consistently under a level 5. This is a big deal for me because I've had a really hard time with pain. I still have a ways to go, but the improvement is slowly and steadily happening.
You are not alone, and there is hope! And it is not false hope. It is based in reality. Real people becoming really healthy. I have personally seen others get better, and I am personally experiencing it.
Sincerely,
Hi Lisa Ann,
Hi Lisa Ann,
thank you so much for your response. I called the office today. Am concerned that Mitia is not available. Only boaz. Have you met him?
Carey,
Carey,
I have never met Boaz, but there is a patient who has posted about seeing him for IC, and she sounds very positive in her remarks about treatment. This is a recent change, that Boaz is taking IC patients. But he has been practicing Chinese medicine for a long time. I think Matia and Boaz met while getting their education in Chinese medicine.
