Hi All
I've been on the diet for almost 12 months now. I was hoping my IC would have gone now but it hasnt. I'm in general quite a lot better, but I can still have some nasty periods & days. I have had many days where I feel 90% better though which is great. My IC never seems to really want to go though.
I havent found any new foods really makes a difference to my IC , except spices which I keep away from. To be honest I have found it the hardest thing to judge as to whether a food makes it worse - I can never really tell.
My diet isnt as restricted as it used to be & is healthy. Occasionally I can pick up a sandwich from a shop when I'm on the go. My general rule is to avoid anything with sugar & yeast & Alcohol etc
I guess I just wanted to see if anyones diet had gotten less restricted after a year? Are you more adventurous?
Although I'm not fully better I can't keep waiting for all my illnesses to get better so have decided to go travelling all next year (Im only 25 male) - I think it will be a massive challenge to keep to the diet 100% simply due to eating out most of the time - but hopefully my bladder is less sensitive than a year ago.
By next year I hopefully want to be 100% - but I do lose hope sometimes!
Hi, I too have been in
Hi, I too have been in treatment for almost a year. I am trying foods on list 4 now, but I am far from being totally ic free. I have gone a couple of months without symptoms, but now I only have a couple of days without any symptoms at all. Generally though, I do feel better. I agree that it is hard to tell what foods make ic worse. I do eat out a lot, but I try to stick to the foods I am allowed to have. Most of the time, eating out is not a problem for me, but it is easy to stray when you think you are better. Be careful. Do not let ic run your life............travel and have fun. Just remember that you have made great progress and keep hopeful. E Salinas
